Thanks Nicole :grouphug:

It is reassuring to hear that you don't have any symptoms. I always just figured that if my BBS don't hurt than my progesterone is non-existant but I hope you are right!!! Sunday I should start spotting so if I don't I will test Monday am.

I have two tests on hand. They are the Answer brand and are supposed to be very sensitive.

But on a positive note I made our pre-WDW hotel reservation for our stay-n-fly. Only 55 days to go!!!

Remember: i before e except after c, or when sounded as a as in neighbor or weigh. The correct spelling is conceive.

I took my first OPK test today. Is it weird that I am excited over that? It was negative, but I expected it would be.

I have been reading a lot, but not replying a lot. We ahve been busy dealing with a few things at church in addition to getting our gutters, siding and roofing replaced.

So woo hoo for the great Beta Michelle!

Skuttle, I will be thinking good thoughts and praying for your furbaby. Mine mean the world to me!

Emily, glad to see you back!

Welcome to our newbie!!! I hope you enjoy it here.

My DH is talking in my ear while typing and making this a real PITA to type :p

Rebecca, keeping my fingers crossed... all pregnancies are different!

Nicole thinking good thoughts for you tomorrow

I am sure I missed something, but my favorite show (House) is on. I miss it when AI is on ;)

Thank you for all your kind "welcomes"! I have ordered the book and signed on to the FF site. I have scanned through this thread, and I am overwhelmed! It's going to take me a little bit of time to get everyone strait. This is such a great thread. I have already learned so much (getting those acronyms was interesting-I laughed out loud when I figured out AF. I kept trying to associate everything with complicated medical terms.)

So let me first pass on congratulations to all of you that have successfully navigated your 2WW. It looks like I picked a good time to get some pixie dust. I am sending out some serious prayers and hugs to all of you. My heart goes out to all of you that have been struggling so hard to have a baby. You get big prayers and hugs too for lots of strength and faith.

Okay, I am going to bombard you all with some questions. I am working hard to catch up, but these are really weighing on my mind.

First, I got a new OB when my old one retired @ 8 months ago. When I called her office to set an appt to talk about all this, a nurse called me back and said it was probably unnecesary b/c they could answer any questions I had over the phone. They basically said get off the pill and onto pnvitamins and give it some time. My main question was that the last OB had a concern that I might (very big might) be parimenopausal b/c of extreme nightsweats, hotflashes, etc.-she couldn't tell for sure b/c I was on the pill. When I raised concerns about this the new OBs office said no way and not to worry about it. So should I push the issue and ask for the menopause level test or give it a year and see?

Second question, I stopped my pills 7 days short of the 21 day active cycle. I got a period 7 days later (it was like they always are). I have not had another one since. I am on day 34. I am not preggers b/c we didn't do anything w/o protection this month (dh still freaking a little bit). Did I do soemthing wrong stopping short on the pill? (I remember Lizzie saying she made herself finish the cycle).

Last (I promise), I am an aerobics instructor. My OB encouraged me to keep up my high level of activity until I got preg, and then to drop down my intensity to an appropriate level after I conc. What do you all think? Should I go on ahead and drop down now? I would certainly stay active, just not 1-2 classes a day of the highest intensity classes my gym offers.

Let me have it!
PS: I can't wait for AF (ironic, huh!) so I can start charting.
Jennifer

Thanks so much everyone. I'm sure Milo will do fine tomorrow. Our vet is sending the mass off to LSU...he says it takes longer, but is less expensive. I assume if he thought it was something serious, he'd send it off to the fast place and we'd just have to pay the extra $$. I'm nervous, but I'm sure he'll do fine. We lost our Yorkie, Maggie, very unexpectedly on Nov 2, 2005, and I've noticed that since Maggie's accident, the smallest things with Milo get me nervous/scared.

Rebecca...definitely do NOT give up hope until AF arrives!! My DS was a surprise and I had NO idea I was pregnant until I was 7 weeks along. I was in the middle of law school finals and thought I was late due to the stress. My only *real* symptom was fatigue, but even that didn't really kick in until about 9-10 weeks. I NEVER had any morning sickness, never had sore bbs...nothing other than fatigue, really.

Wow, I'm really late finding this thread, lol. My husband and I are also TTC. We've been doing so on and off for about a year now. Next month we're getting super-serious again (lol), so who knows, maybe next month will be the month for our BFP. I can only hope!

Jennifer-I'll try and answer your questions.

1. I would wait and see if you still have the hotflashes and nightsweats now that you are off the pill. Let your body regulate a little because your hormone levels will still be wacky coming off BCP. But if you are really worried about it then push to have the test done. Stress can be just as big of factor as anything while TTC.

2. It is best to finish out your pack. But since you didn't it might take a little while longer to regulate. You might want to test anyway becuase we all know that sometimes protection fails ;) Some Drs say that it can take, on average, six months for your body to regulate your cycle.

3. This is just my opinion but I would drop the intensity now. But do it slowly so your body can adjust.

Please ask away. We have all done it. Hope you will get your BFP soon!!!

Nope! Not strange at all! :thumbsup2 I have mine ready to use when I feel I've become a bit more regular. I've heard some don't ovulate for awhile after coming off the pill while others do right away. I'm sure I'll be the right away category! :p I probably won't start testing til May. Sometime around our anniversary hopefully. Wouldn't that be an awesome time to conceive??!! :cool1:

Jennifer - I don't want to scare you - but I think it would be a good idea to ask for an FSH test -- chances are 99.9% that NOTHING is wrong with you - but the FSH test (that looks to see if you are going through early menopause) is nothing more than a simple blood test -- you have it on day 3 of your cycle. Again - chances are you are 100% fine - but why not get confirmation of that if it is as easy as a blood test.

I myself was diagnosed last June with POF (premature ovarian failure - also know as early menopause) -- I was 32. Unfortunately for me - I wasted a year of trying on my own only to find out - when I finally switched from my obgyn to a RE specialist - who immediately ordered a whole battery of blood tests - that my condition could have been diagnosed immediately a year ago and I could have then been a whole year earlier in my egg donor/IVF process.

Thankfully (so far) things (although off to a late start) have worked out great for me because I found a wonderful donor - did my IVF in Feb and am now 5 weeks pregnant!

I guess my point is this -- while I think Rebecca's advice to you to wait and see if things resolve themselves off the pill is sound and good advice -- having been through it myself so recently and having been so mad that my condition could have been diagnosed earlier with a simple blood test -- I am very very in favor of Cycle Day 3 FSH tests now. I pretty much recommend it to anyone trying to conceive.

Again - the only real benefit to getting checked sooner rather than later is that you don't lose time AND you also save yourself the stress of the charting, temperature taking, OPK, doctor's appointments, 2ww....etc -- I did that for a year and that was the most fustrating part for me - the constant hope and then the crush when it did not happen.

If your period does not become somewhat regular in the next couple of months - I would ask for the test - nothing to lose! My irregular periods were really my only symptom -- some times my period would be 12 days, then the next time - 60 days, ever time was random 25, 36, 42, 12, 60 - I had no consitency -- that is why I ended up at the RE in the first place.

I really really hope that this message did not freak you out in any way because that is not my intent -- my intent was only to mention this test and encourage you to get it so that you can put your own mind at ease. If I had to go through this infertility/ttc journey again from scratch - the thing I would change is I would have been more aggressive with my doctors - I find most doctors are content to just tell you to keep trying and not to worry - rather than to do tests and confirm all is well.

Any questions - ask away!

~Nicole

Jennifer, Nicole gave you really good advice. I would lke to add a little more. If you are comfortable, start charting on your own. That way, you will have information to present to your OB/GYN and your RE when the time comes. If you can show a chart to your OB after you have been charting for a few months that shows that you have not been ovulating, you will get a quicker referral to an RE, and you might not have to wait the year everyone recommends.

For some people charting stresses them out, so if that is the case with you, weigh your stress level against the benefit you will get out of the charting. If the stress is too great, by all means don't do it.

When I started with my RE, the FSH was one of the first tests they did, before they tested DH, before they tried any medications. There were 5 tests in all done at that time, but I had already had my prolactin and thyroid levels checked by then, too.

Good luck!

Jennifer-I agree with Nicole and Denae that if you feel like you want to hit this problem head on...then go for it.

I guess I should have explained myself a little more. The last year of being on BCP I was in the same situation as you. Terrible hot flashes and sometimes night sweats about a week before my period would start. I asked my Dr and he said not to worry about it. When I went off BCP the first two months were HELL. My body was going through withdrawls, nausea, hot flashes, dizzy head, headaches...like the worst PMS you have ever had. Then it all started to even out.

So that was my experience.

Skuttle-Hope Milo is doing OK

Hi girls! At work so can't type much.

Just heard from the vet and Milo is waking up from surgery now. They were able to remove the mass and clean his teeth as well. They will send the mass off tomorrow (missed the pick up for today) and we should get results in a couple days...I'm assuming probably not until next week since it's already Wednesday. He'll be ready to go home around 4:30 this afternoon. :) Hopefully things continue to go well.

I have no idea how they will be wrapping up his paw...it's is front, right paw. Guess I'll find out when I pick him up this afternoon! I know he's probably starving so he'll be thrilled to see us and go home to eat! LOL!

Rebecca - what a story - glad to hear your PMS on speed eventually resolved itself. How are you doing - AF is due when - Tuesday? Are you going to test on Sunday or Monday?

Skuttle -- happy to hear Milo is awake and doing well. Sending lots of prayer that the mass is nothing -- poor little guy! I know how terrible it is when they have to have surgery - your heart breaks for them. Our little guy (our bulldog) has to have his ACL repaired - his surgery is March 20th - we are so worried about him! Plus he is giant -- 68lbs and my poor husband has to carry him around for 2 weeks cause he can't put weight on the knee!

***********************************

Well - second beta results are in.... 3166 !!! We are super excited -- nurse said this is a great strong result at 19dp3dt! Nurse is thinking at this point that it is probably not twins since the number is more in line with a healthy single baby --- but tells us you just never know - could be 2 little guys in there - we will find out for sure at our ultrasound which is scheduled for March 21st!! I can't wait.

I just can't believe I am 5 weeks pregnant! After the ultrasound - I am going to add the ticker that I have long coveted to my signature!! Still no real symptoms yet except for tiredness and some very mild nauseuosness!

Hugs,
Nicole

Nicole! Congrats on the beta? I can't wait to hear about your U/S results.

Denae

Nicole-How wonderful!!!!! I can't wait to see that ticker in your signature!!! You deserve it

PMS on speed...:rotfl2: Yeah it was not fun.

I'm still PMS free so far this cycle. I was trying to figure out how many DPO I am so I know when I can test. But to be honest I think I will just wait to see if I start to spot or not. CD 24 is Sunday and the latest I have ever started was CD 27 which would be Wednesday. So maybe next weekend if nothing happens. I'm just really sick of seeing a BFN. So I'm going to wait.

Skuttle-Glad to hear that Milo made it through surgery just fine. I'm sure they will wrap up his foot really well. The trick will be when they want to let the wound air out and trying to make sure he doesn't tear the stitches out.

Well, we're back from our weekend in Monterey, and I'm now in the 2ww (although for me it's more like the 10daywait). My temps and CM and OPK's didn't line up with each other at all, so my best guess is that I O'd sometime on CD24, CD25, or CD26. FF thinks it was CD25, but I'm not 100% convinced of that. Anyway, we BD on CD22 and CD27, and DH was sick and cranky from CD23-26, and I'm not thinking this was the month for us. Still, you never know, so I'm trying to behave myself and eat, drink, exercise, etc. as if I were preg just in case. FF has my test date as the 13th...we'll see if AF shows up before then. I'm feeling way more discouraged this month than I have in a while. It's been especially hard with my sister being preg now, and as a nanny to an 18mo. old girl I spend a lot of time in places with moms and their babies, and it's been rough the last couple weeks to be places and have to explain one more time that this isn't my baby, and I don't have children of my own. But enough of my troubles...Congrats again, Michelle and Nicole!! I'm so excited for you guys! And welcome to the new folks! It's always good to have more folks here to share stories and encouragement with each other.
Okay, sorry about the long run-on thing - I can't get this to do paragraphs or put smilies in for some reason...very odd..
