Well - it didn't happen this month :sad1: I caved, and I tested - got a BFN and a couple of hours later AF started.

Hope someone else has good luck soon!

Sorry to hear... :grouphug: Have some chocolate, a good cry, and know we're here to cheer you on next month! :cheer2:

Hi Guys.

Jen in NH - I am in Massachusetts too and my RE is at the Reproductive Science Center in Lexington - he is great!! They have a whole team of people there. Don't know how far that would be for you.

Hi all -- good luck to everyone. I am thinking of you all!

-Nicole

Another :thumbsup2 for RSC in Lexington!! I started at the Womans Infertility Center at UMASS in Worcester and had my 3 IUI's there. I than transferred to RSC for my IVF. After 1 m/c and 1 IVF that the embryos didn't make it to day 3, we decided we should look into getting hubby fixed, especially as we knew the problem and he had been to the specialist (urologist who specializes in male infertility out of milford hospital..who was wonderful). We were getting ready to start #3 IVF, post DH surgery and waiting for AF to start and low and behold, she didn't. So between DH's surgery and me losing 40 lbs...we are expecting. RSC was so wonderful to us and their support system is one of them. Another plus is one of my friends is one of the ones who gets the authorizations from your insurance co for the IUI's/IVF's so it was great knowing a longtime friend was working on my authorizations.

I've never opened this thread before, but since I'm trying to conceive too, I thought I'd stop in and say HI!! :wave2:

I have had 2 children (and I have one step daughter) but we want another one.

Thanks for the welcome, ladies. It is nice to see a friendly, welcoming thread. Another DISer and I have been laughing because although some threads claim to be friendly and welcoming, there are a couple who have totally been ignoring us, despite our best efforts to fit in. :rotfl2:

I'm 4DPO--and my chest is getting "fluffy".

And today--I wanted a sprite.

Hmmm....could it be....a sign.

LOL!!!! No of course not--I get fluffy EVERY month darn it!

Welcome to all of the new people! Take ONE day off and you fall SO FAR behind! :sunny:

Lisa, I hate those u/s where they have to dig around - so not pleasant. That healing touch sounds nice. :cloud9:

IMarriedGrumpy, why on earth do you have to wait to see a doctor to TTC? Unless you have some issues that need to be under control and/or monitored, there is no reason you need to see a doctor before you TTC. Make sure you're taking a vitamin with 400mcg Folic Acid and go for it. Nothing they do to you is going to make a difference anyway - just a routine physical. So, they're telling you that you won't be able to see a fertility specialist unless you go for this useless appointment? Talk about blackmail! Definitely get away from them. It's all a money-making scam.

Becky...look on the bright side....you're not wetting yourself when you puke, right? :rotfl:

FlyingBelle, 3 more days! Not buying any HPTs? It's so tempting. :)

Rachael....I hope the WW does the trick for you so you can get going again! People told my mother she was selfish for only having one child, so you can't win either way. :sad2:

Jen, what dose of Clomid are you on? The longer you take it, the less effective it'll be. The next logical step is injectables/HCG/IUI. Let us know what the doctor says today. :grouphug: My RE is in Melrose. She does everything there, except IVF retrieval and transfer, which is done at NEMC because of the embryology lab. On a good day, it's about 1.5 hours. On a bad day, it's over 2 hours. But, when you find a doctor you like, you do what you have to do. :goodvibes

Denae, I would have stayed home. But, then again, I tend to be lazy about work. :teeth:

Kristy, what Follistim dose do they have you starting? It'll go by pretty fast now. Before you know it, you'll be loaded up with Happy Drugs and getting your eggs sucked out. :thumbsup2

lil mermaid, sorry about the BFN. :grouphug: But, pretty soon you'll be in another 2ww. That's not the fun part, but at least there's hope there. :goodvibes

Lisa....fluffy chest. :rotfl: I might have to use that sometime.

My SHG was a breeze. I had a LOT of cramping. Everytime I cramped, the saline came wooshing out. My RE had it all over her shoes. It was pretty simple though. I was loaded up on Vicodin, so I just giggled the whole time. :rotfl2: She kept showing me things....no idea what I saw, but she said it all looked good. Now, I just need another insurance approval and I'm set to go. That usually takes about 2 weeks, she said. So, I'm on a bit of a hiatus. I guess that's good. Take a little break. After, me, my RE and her DH were sitting around talking and I asked how many of these things BCBCS gives out. They said 6, at a minimum, but usually more for young, healthy people. Every time they give out 3, they require new tests for another 3 (thus the SHG this time around). I said, "So, I could be doing this for another 5 years?!" She said, "No. You'll get pregnant this next round." I said, "What? You've been holding something back on me?? I see that new car....NOW you can get me pregnant, right?" Ha...the new car isn't hers, it's her DH's. She can't part with her old POS. I told them I was wise to their game. I think I called her "Madame Cleo", too. :rotfl: Oh...and she says I'm getting Valium and, maybe, Demerol for my next 2ww. Gosh, I love her. If the IVF doesn't get me pregnant, I'm going to end up an addict and it seems THEY have no problems getting knocked up. Maybe that's her plan.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Morning all I go in for another u/s and bloodwork today. After the shots bloodwork isn't as bad. I am glad that the vics worked for you Carla--They can be a wonderful thing. Hey just stop worring and maybe you'll get pregnant this cycle; relax your not doing it right-- NOOOOOOTTTTTTTTT  :rolleyes1

Yeah, those SHG's are a lot of fun, aren't they? Anytime they tell you to take a handfull of advil before you go in for the test is not a good sign! :scared1: Ok, so not a handfull - but you know what I mean.

As for taking a HPT, I'm still telling myself that the ovadril will give me a false positive (whether it's still in my system or not), so I'm just waiting, waiting, waiting! :goodvibes

Lisa, my mother told me to stop taking the birth control pills because SO MANY people get pregnant while taking a break. Yeah, some do. SO MANY? Not so much. Besides, thanks to the Follistim, I ovulate through the BCP anyway. :thumbsup2 I hope your u/s went well today. You get your blood results later today?

FlyingBelle, I just skipped the Advil and took the Vicodin. She told me she normally recommends 4 Advil, but I just wanted to be zonked. Do you have an appointment scheduled for the beta?

I just found out I got a raise. I feelt guilty. :guilty: I'm barely here. But, she says it's what the company does unless the person has just been a bad employee. OK, I guess. It'll come in handy to pay for my nifty new driveway.

I'm going out and getting drunk tonight with my mother. Apple Martinis here I come!

Yep, my appt is Monday at 8:30am (CST). Nurse Debbie calls with results about 2pm

I had to take vicodin for my knee surgery - my husband was so afraid I'd get addicted he would leave it accross the room. Being that I was plugged into the wall - he knew I couldn't get at it myself!

The HSG wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. My SIL scared me, but hers was different than mine. She had to go to a hospital to have it done. Mine was at the RE clinic - a piece of cake!

Speaking of my SIL - she delivered an adorable baby boy on the 5th! She used the same RE as I am now (Fertility Centers of Illinois - they're AWESOME!) Would appreciate your prayers though, they're detecting a heart murmer in him - we're not worried yet, but mom is concerned.

Welcome Bonnie and Nikki.

Carla - you crack me up and your cheerfullness helps me keep my own spirits up! Thanks!! Congrats on the raise.

Tiggersack --- CONGRATS!!! Glad to hear you liked the RSC - I am happy to be working with them and so hopeful! And a 40lb loss - good for you. THat is really what I have to do...the doctors have told me it won't reverse or change the POF but I am still a little hopeful that maybe it would help - it woudl certainly help carrying the preganancy I am sure. So, how did you do it?

I am thinking of joining Weight Watchers. How does everyone else (except Carla who I understand is super skinny!!) lose weight -- let's hear your secrets...(I wish there was a magic pill!)

Hugs to all your wonderful ladies.

Hi everybody! Happy Friday....

Hi Nikki and Bonnie: welcome to the thread!

Nikki - talk to your friend about it. One of my friends got pregnant right after we had both decided to start trying (and I mean like that night..... :) ) A year and a half later, I'm still not. They're starting to talk about #2, and I know part of why she's dragging her feet about it is not wanting to get pregnant again before I am for the first time. And while I'm glad she's such a good friend to be worried about it, I don't want her to put her life on hold for my problems. Just my 2 cents....

Lisa - good luck with the u/s and bloodwork.

FlyingBelle - I have my fingers crossed for a + test. Good luck!

I'm schdeuled to go in again on Monday for another u/s. 3 internal u/s in one cycles is getting annoying, but oh well. The doc thinks that the one on 7/5 was probably just too early. Usually I don't O until day 17-20, and that was day 13. I have my fingers crossed for this one to look better.

I did start looking into RE around here - Dartmouth has them in Manchester, and I spoke to their office just looking for info. The nurse I spoke to was really nice, and said they usually have no problems with seeing patients who do not have all of the labs, u/s, etc done with them. Obviously, some things would have to be, but I could still do the routine stuff closer to home.

Hi everyone, wow this thread has gotten popular! Lots of Dis-loving women trying to create disney-loving babies! Good luck to all! :wizard:

I'm still not doing too bad, nauseaus all the time, but I haven't thrown up yet (sorry everyone with terrible ms). But the girls have just gotten huge! I feel like I need a new bra already; they're falling out all over the place. It's kind of nice, since my former size was "itty-bitty"

LOVE your tag Miss Polly! I spent some time in MN and was constantly stopped on the street and asked if I was an I-talian from Chicago!

Sorry, that was totally :offtopic:

FlyingBelle, your nephew is adorable. I hope he's OK. I know lots of people with murmurs so hopefully his will just be something he either grows out of or doesn't bother him too much as he grows.

Nicole, I don't know if I'd say super skinny. :goodvibes I'm tall though (almsot 6ft), so if I gain 5lbs-10lbs, it doesn't really show. I do a lot of kickboxing. I have a punching bag in my basement and I beat the crap out of it. It's great exercise and it helps get all of my anger out. I also used to dance (ballet), so I'll dance around the house. I have my shoes and everything and I flit around the house. My cats think I'm nuts, but so what? :rotfl: Oh, and I have colitis, so I can't eat much if I'm going to be out of the house and 7 out of 10 things I eat just come right back out. Not that I recommend getting colitis. :teeth:

Jen, I'm surprised there are so few REs in NH. Geez, if I only had a medical degree, I could have every patient in the area! Have you checked out Portsmouth Regional? They have a Women's Center. http://www.harbourwomenshealth.com/infertility.html My DH was the electrical contractor for the Cardiac Care Center, so I'm partial to that place. :goodvibes

Pollito, by the end of this, you could end up with 10 different sized bras! You could open your own lingerie shop. :teeth: That's one thing I'm afraid of. I'm already a D. If I get pregnant....umm...WHEN I get pregnant, I'm going to need to get them specially sewn together for me. Or, never leave the house again and just go bare.

I found out one of my good friends is pregnant....and due NEXT MONTH! A year ago in June, she delivered she son stillborn. She went in on a Friday and everything was fine. The scheduled her induction for Monday. She got there Monday and he had died over the weekend. He had something going on with the cord being too long and her having too much amniotic fluid. She has 2 daughters already, but really wanted this boy to be the end. She just melted down. I mean, it was scary. She couldn't be left alone with her girls because she'd take sleeping pills and pass out in the kitchen leaving them to fend for themselves. I'm mad that she didn't tell me. I thought it was because of what I'm going through, but she assures me it's because of the loss of her son. Whatever. Anyway, I asked her if she was ready for this. She said, "No, but my mother kept pressuring me, so I figured I might as well." Gee....I might as well get my hair cut....I might as well eat pasta for dinner....oh, and while I'm at it, I might as well get pregnant. :guilty: So, while I'm as happy for her as I can be given the fact that she never wanted to get pregnant and only did it for her mother, I can't help but be angry that for most people they can just make the decision and have it happen and so many of us can't. Two years ago today I took my last BCP and declared that we were going to start a family. That's how it's supposed to work, right? I'm not a big believer in God, but I sincerely hope there is one because I want answers. :furious:
