Thanks everyone. We are so excited, I'm happy to finally be able to share the news.

Syrreal, congrats on the boy! We are having a very hard time with boy names, too. Which of course means we'll have one. We both want a girl though - we decided her name at Disney when we were there last year.

Minnesota!, great heartbeat! I also think you are having a girl and me a boy. When is your big U/S? I'm hoping to have ours the Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, but I'll only be 18w5d. You think that's too early?

Carla, that is so exciting! I just know this is the cycle! All the pain is going to be worth it!

Pollito, I was wondering if there were any Nesties here! I have been posting over there so I can get some pg answers - plus I feel pretty anonymous over there. Now I can finally talk about it with everyone!

Thanks to everyone re: the constipation thing. Early in pregnancy I was eating prunes which I love, but they don't sound good to me now (glad I bought the jumbo size - our fridge is reminiscent of my grandparents ). Instead I'm eating a lot of cereal (at least two bowls a day!). I like Raisin Bran, but will also pick up a box of Total, since I like that as well! I think I could live off cereal this pregnancy - anyone else like that?

Cereal wass about the only thing I want to eat, and about the only thing that didn't turn my stomach for a few days. This morning, I couldn't stand the sight of it. Apparently I'm cheerio'd out

Allison - I am hoping to have my big u/s the week before Thanksgiving as well, so we can tell everyone at dinner that day! Hoping to slip it into the prayer before the meal, LOL! I will probably set up my u/s date at my next appt on the 29th. My OB is really hard to get appts with, so I am thinking I am going to schedule through the end of the year. I think 18w5d would be a good time! They say between 18-22 weeks. That is so cool that you and DH picked out a name at Disney! I had so much fun sharing WDW with my son this year...can't wait to get another child hooked on it! We chose names last night, too.

DMickey - I rented a doppler with my son, and then forgot to return it right away, so I just called up and bought it. I only owed like $100 more, and figured I would want it for any subsequent pgs. I got it from babybeat.com. Very quick shipping and I have been extrememly happy with it.

Carla - I have been thinking about you all day! I just have this great feeling for this cycle! Wouldn't twins be a hoot??

BTW - Cereal was one of my BIG cravings with my son. Had to have a bowl every morning, afternoon and evening. I still LOVE it but not HAVING to have it like I did with Luke.

I am cd 31 tomorrow. I have been having horrible leg/feet cramps that only come in my lp. I got terribly sick on the flight hom from WDW and the day I landed I got what I thought was a cold but nothing seems to work to get rid of it so I have only been taking airborne. I sure hope WDW did the trick. I would have concieved on my hubby's birthday and be due on mine. =)

vettechick99- That's what DH and I thought too! We didn't really have any intuition about what the baby would be but always joked that since we didn't have a boy's name, that's what it woudl be.

kimntrent- I tested on day 31! I was 3 days late and have always been super regular (both on and off bc) and sure enough.... baby

We were flipping through the name book at the UK paviliion in Epcot, and I just saw a name I loved, so I asked DH what he thought and he liked it too. Unfortunately, we can't use it anymore, b/c his stupid 20 yr old brother got his 18 yr old gf pregnant, and that is her name. She is due 1 month before me, and they got married 2 months ago, so I don't think I can use the name anymore.

Oh my gosh, how funny. And then how crappy! I'm sorry, that just stinks. Did she know that was the name you two picked out?

We were actually on our way back from Epcot, walking up toward the BCV when I mentioned a name I had heard and liked. Most of the time when I approach him with a name, I get the usual response, "Eh. We'll see." But this time his eyes lit up and he's like, "Yes, I love it. Baby A. It sounds right!" At that time I also ignorantly said, "Next time we come we'll have a baby!" Well, he's holding me to that, so our next trip probably won't be until Oct 2008. I don't think I'll be able to get him down there sooner. How could I be so dumb!?!!

Wow, we are full of good news lately. Awesome report, Carla!

I have some news of my own that I also just posted on my trip report thread. We were able to conceive in July so I'm 10 weeks tomorrow! We cautiously kept it under wraps, but yesterday we had our second ultrasound and the baby looks great. Growing right on schedule with a strong heartbeat!

My due date is April 19 next year which times up nicely with my summer break. I can take the last two months of school off and have two more for free in the summer. You teachers will know how ideal this is!

I will still stay around, lurking and posting like I have been. Good luck to you all. I still say this thread is very lucky!

I cancelled my follow up appointment after my d&c with my doctor. I had finally had enough when they filled out my FMLA paperwork wrong, because it appears they never updated my file after I had the miscarriage. Idiots. I just hope everything is okay...I can NOT go back to that doctor again!!

Hey ladies I posted this on the moms to be board but I wanted to share with you girls too since I am so excited about it

I had been saying that I wanted to go down to WDW for our fall break (which is at the beginning of next month). Well, all he's been saying anytime I mention it is "You do not need to go to wdw 4 times this year" and left it at that. Well, a few weeks ago I finally just get up and got theater tix to see RENT during fall break time.
So he is taking a shower yesterday and I'm just talking to him about nothing in particular when he says very casually, "Why don't you see what price you can get us to go down to disney after my masters exam" I asked if he was sure and he just said to see that if it wasn't too expensive, we could think about it. And if we go down we can invite 2 friends of ours to come up to meet us.
I had a drs appt yesterday and asked if I would be safe to fly in 6 weeks. She gave the ok. Our friend said that they were free that weekend. And we are set to go down in November. Dh is such a sweety

Went for the u/s today everything went well but I almost missed it. Long story

Maria who is Diana's Chinesse friend from preschool--I had talked about us watching her during the summer. Well a couple of months ago her father asked us to get a briefcase from the house. We had the keys. It was mostly irs and ins stuff. She calls me screaming the next morning about it. We get an email from Lou the father saying that he gave us permission and do not give it to her. Fast forward to today u/s today and she shows up as I am on the way out. SHe wants the box for the birth certificate and social security card. I tell her we don't have the box and she can get the stuff at those offices. SHe won't leave so I need to get the police involved and I have to tell her to leave and she can't come onto the property.

We are almost finished TTC this month, and we went to a party the other night and I ate beef brisket. I remembered when I got home that my Mom makes it and she uses beer or wine to make it. Since then I have been so nervous.
What should I do??? I am extremely nervous anyway since I just had a m/c, so I am being extra careful, but this didn't even cross my mind while I was eating it.

2 weeks before my friend found out she was pregnant, she went on a trip with her husband where she drank a lot and was taking cold medication. When she found out that she was pregnant she told her doctor right away and her doctor told her not to worry. He said "How do you think most people get pregnant!"
Plus whenever you cook with alcohol, the heat is enough the burn the alcohol off that it wouldn't be harmful! Don't worry!!!!

We have been TTCing since Monday. I used an OPK Friday and it said I was O. On late Saturday afternoon, I felt this pain in my lower left side that was very sharp for a few minutes. Now, my question is, could that have been mittelschmerz, (isn't that the egg falling)? If so, does that mean that I wasn't pregnant before Saturday and could only become pregnant after I felt that pain?
I am so confused!

OPKs work by detecting your LH (luteinizing hormone) surge. This means that you will likely become fertile within the next three days or so, and peak fertility usually occurs 24- 36 hours after the initial LH surge.

The pain may or may not have been ovulation pain. I had it, but it would last for a day or so...maybe half a day, but for more than just a few minutes. But not all women have the same type of pain, and not all women even feel it. Also, it can happen just before, during or after ovulation.

So - hopefully you guys "tried" all weekend. If you did, you should be covered!

Edited because I didn't answer your question: The sperm hangs around for awhile. If you actually did ovulate at the moment you felt the pain, and you had done the deed Friday night, or Saturday morning, it is likely that the sperm was already there when you ovulated, waiting for the egg to show up, so conception definitely could have occurred.
