I just read that Cinderella's Golden Carousel will be closed from 11/2-11/14....that's when my family will be there for the first time!!

I am so disappointed :( I was really looking forward to riding that with my 3-yr old DD (who ADORES Cinderella). Are there any other carousel's that are not to be missed? All I've ever heard was how beautiful this one was.

Where did you read this? We will be there during that time and have not seen that anywhere.

There is a carousel at Downtown Disney.

Cinderellas golden carosel is just a plain merry-go-round. It's the same kind at all amusment parks and carnivals. The only connection with Cinderella is the song they play while it is running. Cinderella is not on it or near it so I would not worry to much that it's not working. Go on Pooh or Peter Pan instead. Dont go on Snow whites scary adventure with small ones ( its mostly the scary witch)...TAZ

To any child, specifically my DS, who has ridden other carousels, there is only one Cinderella's Carousel. He was terribly disappointed to hear that it would be closed while we are there. I am pretty disappointed about it, too, since I take his picture on his ride every year.

Well, we have promised extra rides on Peter Pan and a visit to DTD to ride their carousel. Oh, and a visit to FW to visit the real horses -- this seemed to do the trick!

Does anyone know how much the carousel costs to ride at DTD?
That is such a bummer about Cinderella's, I'll be there too when it is closed.

The Downtown Disney carousel is a small affair, which is not comparable to Cinderella's. It costs $2. And yet, our little Delegation loves this carousel and the little train that runs nearby.

This is interesting, because when we were there a couple of weeks ago they were playing Sleeping Beauty's song. I know this because my dd2 sings this song ALL the time and I specifically remembering thinking, "how nice, it's the Sleeping Beauty song" (Once Upon a Dream). I wondered why it was called Cinderella's Carousel.

I just read that yesterday under the Rehabs/Closing listing---BOO HOO!!! I'm mostly bummed about "It's a Small World" being closed. We are taking our twin toddler daughters and I know they would love the above rides. Oh, well---we will have to make another trip back there. ;)

I can't figure out why kids love it so much. On my now 4-year-old daughter's first trip to Disneyland at 14-months it was her favorite ride.

I kept thinking... but they have one at the mall... what about all this unique rides only found at Disney? But the smile on her face was too cute. She like all the other rides... her smile was just a little bigger on the carousel.
