Any other Aussies thinking of going to the possible Sydney Dis meet?

Hi,
I thought it would be fun to start a thread to see if any other Aussie Disser fans are thinking of going to the possible Dis meet in Sydney? I know on the last podcast Pete was wondering about peoples' interest in a meet so I wanted to find out how many of us are out there!!

Myself and my twin sister (we are 29 yo) are definately going to fly down from Melbourne if the meet is on a weekend...we are SOOO excited to have the opportunity to meet our favorite podcasters and other disney fans in Australia.

I really want to - but I am in Perth and I am having a bit of difficulty convincing DH that it is a good idea for me to take my 5y/o out of school for a week to go to Sydney for a 'girls trip' to meet a broadcaster from a Disney podcast that DH is not really even aware I listen to.

My presents of vegemite & the guidebooks were done in secret... and so unless I somehow win a PCC 2.0 from the Prizematron DH is not going to know I sent them

Of course I have to book flights etc soon because Syd and Melb in September go a bit nuts, thankfully neither the Eagles or the Dockers have any chance of getting into the finals so at least there will still be plane seats available.

Of course there would be people from the Dis who would believe DH's questioning of me spending $2k for the week to go over to Syd / Melb (girlfriend lives there) and to meet Pete is grounds for a divorce on the basis of unimaginable cruelty but I guess since I am trying to finagle him into being in the USA in time for the PCC I have to choose my arguements.

Hi there Teskak!! Hopefully you'll be able to wangle the trip somehow I didn't even think about September being a busy month to fly but now you say it, it's around the AFL grand final time and Victorian school holidays I think. Hopefully we will know soon the exact date and location so I can book it while the flights are still available and cheap!! Just looked today and can get a flight from Melb to Syd for $58 which is pretty good!! Hope some more Aussies are going to be able to make it

last DIS meet i had was 10 years ago in sydney. i chatted with another disser on the boards and we end up meeting in sdyney when we visited. back than the internet was not exactly a wash with networking avenues, cut pm-ing on the boards was the go. needless to say my partner was not impressed with meeting people off the internet 10 years ago.

but if i can make it happen, it will happen.

Hi Guys...I am Jess...and i will definately be there!!!


I am so excited...i love everything disney....love the dis podcast ...


We went to the world, disneyland and the cruise last year and i am having major withdrawals!!!

I need a disney fix!

DO we have any ideas yet about dates, venues etc?

All you aussies...are u members of the www.dudisneyana.info fan club...come check us out...we have great chats on the forums and also have meetings through out the year.

i would love to here all about your disney lives....looking forward to catching up at the meet

I would love to go to the meet but will be in Orlando.

Downunder - yes I'm a member of dudisneyana but to be honest, forgot it even existed. I joined in 2006 found myself coming here more often as it just didn't move quickly enough for me. I'll have to try it out again.

I'm really in the Disney mode at the moment. Its less than 8 weeks now until our trip. I downloaded Ridemax thismorning, and can't wait to play with it.

Saturday the 19th is the winner! We're going to meet at 12.00 noon for lunch at James Squire's on King St Wharf, near Darling Harbour

I'm in Stanhope Gardens. We're so close!
We too are huge Disney fans. Our last trip to WDW was in 2007 and included a 4 night cruise on the Wonder.
The best news is that we are going to WDW again in October. We are so excited!
It will be really good to meet up with all the Aussie podcast listeners.

We were soooo hoping to be able to get there but unfortunately we can't get off work I really, really, really wanted to meet Pete and Walter, have been listening to the podcast since it began and they are like celebrities to me It would have been great to meet other Aussie Disney fans too!!! Hope you all have a great time and can't wait to hear about it and see some pics hopefully. I am still living in hope that there is some small possibility that we'll get there.....you never know.
