I am a DVC wannabe(hopefully soon) but in the mean time going on a split stay 3days from now BCV-BLT. Unfortunately, mother in-law took ill and is quite likely to pass away during the very middle of my very short(4nights) stay. As a renter I don't think there is much I can do.I have 1 son who was to stay home in school but now mom won't be home. Can he be added to my reservation? we're hoping for the best but it doesn't look good. What a predicament.

Get in touch with the person you are renting from. Adding a name, as long as within occupancy limits, should not be a problem.

I'm sorry to hear what happened.:grouphug:

You can modify your room reservation by dropping or adding guests (as long as the additon is not taking you beyond the number allowed in the room) through the owner who can do it through member services. You can even do the modification when you arrive.

A different issue is your MDE account and what happens to any restaurant reservations and what do you do with FP. If you are not changing the number of persons for the restaurant reservations you should be fine, but if you are adding to the number rather subtracting, e.g., changing the reservation from 4 to 5, you could have issues and may have to make new reservations. As to FP+, anybody added would have none until you make them which you cannot do for that person before adding him and his park ticket to your MDE account. This close to the trip, that person would not get a magic band until arrival. Also, you can try to get that person the same FP+ rides and times as others already have but you may not be able to and might have to redo everyone's FP+.

It was supposed to be a "special" father and youngest son trip, so adding my older 15 year old is probably what we will do. Don't think he will put up much of a fuss for a week out of school for Disney. Thank you for the replies.

In your situation, I'm not sure I would even tell them. Since you are just subbing one person for another, just have your son use your wife's magic band.

We have friends that are staying offsite and they booked their FPs already. We have room for one more in our ressie and I want to add the son with the thought that he might stay with us a night or two.
  • It sounds like Member Svcs can add him because we have the room.
  • With the trip starting next week, I'm guessing we'll need to get his band at check-in.
  • Does anyone know what happens to the FPs he already has booked? I'm hoping that we'd link his ticket # to his magic band and it would all link, but I worry that it will get all messed up....
What do you think?
