Any opinions on Capts Grille?

We ate there NYE last year and had good service and good meal. It is not California Grill or Yachtsman, but also not Ruby tuesday's( which we actual enjoy) and we would definitely do it again.

My2Qts,
I have made a reservation for Captain's Grill solely for their menu--DS wants crabs legs and I don't think they're worth 2TS credits. We will be going Thanksgiving week. Are you going before or after us? If after, I will post opinion shortly after we get back. If before, let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Forget Captain's Grille....walk another 20 yards & go to The Yachtsman. You will not believe the food! Best steak on property! :thumbsup2

I'm in the <3 Captain's Grille boat, I think it's delicious!

Is it better than Ruby Tuesday? Yes.
Is it better than Yachtsman Steakhouse? No, but you'll get more value out of C's G.

We had b/fast there last week. It was good, though the waffle I had was one on the smallest I've seen.

We really enjoyed the Captain's Grille. Never been to Tutto, but Italian food seems pretty easy to get....?

We hated the Captain's Grill. It didn't have great atmosphere and honestly reminded me of a Denny's with cheap pleather booths. Unless you are staying at the YC I wouldn't make a trek there for the mediocre food.

Never been to Captains Grill, but hated Tutto. Small portions of mediocre food.

The crab cakes are the main reason I want to go here...and the clam chowder. Has anyone tried this, and if not, what's good here? i dont like pork chops....just a heads up on that.....LOL

I know its out of the way and I know yachtsman is better but I am trying to decide if I should keep this reservation or not. I am so torn. I looked over the menu a bunch of times and the clam chowder and crab cakes sound so good to me (im a seafood nut...especially anything with crab). Please send some thoughts my way.....please??

I'm going there at the end of the month.
I havent seen much on it, but what I have seen has all been good and very positive.
I like to look for the out of the way places that people don't go crazy for. I like a calmer dining experience. After dinner, we plan on taking a very long boat ride around the EPCOT resorts on one of the Friendship boats until the Illuminations fireworks go off (we kinda make our out little fireworks cruise...for free).

I say book it! At the least, it's a LOVELY resort (there is a hidden mickey in the big globe in the lobby by the way, and in the glass vase on one of the coffee tables in the lobby, and in the painted landscape photo around the corner from the lobby across from the restaurant. We had a CM dressed in a naval outfit point them all out to us one day and give us an unsolicited hidden mickey tour of the lobby).

We ate lunch there in August and I'm never going back. I ordered the turkey sandwich that has apples in it. I had eaten about half of it when I noticed that the slices of apple still had the stickers on them. It made me wonder if the apples had been washed. I told both our waitress and the chef (who was making the rounds asking people how things were) and neither one of them could muster an apology. I was NOT looking for free food, but some acknowledgment that this was unacceptable would have been nice.

I just cant decide what to do with this. It is our DHS day and I don't want to lose a lot of time in the park. We have done 50s and like it okay. We did Cape May about four years ago and weren't impressed, but I think Im ready to give it another try, especially since DS loves clams. And capts grille I think sounds really nice and may be one of those places that hasn't caught on yet, but is going to. I think the crab cakes sound wonderful. I am also excited about the idea of taking the boat from HS to YC/BC for Cape May/Capts Grille, but then I also worry that by the time we get out (if we have an ADR for around 7ish) and get back to DHS it will be almost time to go (its EMH evening hrs till 11 that night). 50s would be the easiest, but at Disney, sometimes its fun to try something different, and enjoy the little amenities as well, like the boat rides, etc.... Please help me decide what to do.

For what it's worth, Cape May has been our worth meal yet. It wasn't terrible but I would say below average. And honestly, the decor isn't all that exciting. For us, it's the decor is what makes it not just another meal.

I just can't seem to get enough feedback on this place, which is making it very hard for me to decide whether or not I should keep it or ditch it. this is my last attempt to get ya'lls opinions before I make a decision. Anybody...anything....please....
