Any one on 7-29-06 / 7 Night Western!!!! Is Back

We just got home from seeing POTC! Awesome!! Can't wait to see it again on the cruise.
Thanks for the notes about the docs. I feel better.
But.......when we got home from the movies my DS realized he left the lid off his scorpion cage so now instead of watching the Disney cruise show I taped off the Travel Channel we will be pretending we are on Animal Planet and searching for a scorpion. :rotfl2: I love being the mom of two boys!! I didn't really want to sleep tonight anyway!!
Thanks again everyone!

Hi all,

Sorry Ive not been on but my back has been dodgy - so Ive been trying to rest it.

Went out with Dave on Saturday - could not venture very far, as I was having problems, still we managed to get a shirt for formal, pair of sandals, pair of dress shoes and a couple of pairs of shorts. :thumbsup2

Not looking forward to today and I just want it to be over - Its the dreaded sports day @ school - don't get me wrong I loved it at my last school, but at this one its non competitive and badly organised - ( not how I like it) it also means im going to be out on a field all day and I am unsure my back an take that!
I then go to see the orthopedic consultant about my back tonight - I know he will say " Theres nothing @ this stage they can do" but its still uneasy.

The only thing that is getting me through is the thought of my hol!!!
I Dont mean to sound down I guess Im just anxious - esp as the countdown gets lower I pray my back can hold out this year.

I really cannot wait for this holiday and to meet you guys - I dont mean to sound daft but Dave and I dont normally talk to anyone else on hol ( we r both kinda shy  ) and it will be nice to say Hi to a friendly face in a corridor or round the pool.

Oh well better go and start the day. - The sooner I start, the sooner it will be over !

Take care
H xx

Helen so sorry you back is giving you so much trouble. :sad2: I hope that it is all better by the time that you leave. ;) Or at least more bearable then it is now. :) Take care of your self.

Glad that you had success woth the shopping for Dave. Did you ever get your dress?

I am sure I am not the norm here. Un like most people I do not like getting dressed up. This I am not looking forward to.

;) This is going to kill me. Today after work I am going to babysit for my cousin's grandaughter. :) They are into MaryKay (her daughters are directors) and I will not be on my computer to very late. I don't know how Iam going to handle this. I will not be able to check the DIS to see what is going on. Oh Well.

Hello all! Tif -- I hope the kids do well today.

Helen -- so sorry to hear about your back. I hope it is much better ASAP.

Update on Jessie: She came home from the vet on Friday with a plastic cast on her leg. I put her in our laundry room with food, water, her crate and a litter box. She seemed to do well, and I put her in the crate overnight because she was looking around like she was going to try to jump. Well, Saturday morning I went in to check on her and let her out and she had taken off the cast and bandages! I stresssed out and had her at the vet before they opened. They decided not to put it back on because she would take it off again and they can't put it on any tighter or it would interrupt the blood flow.

We took her back home, then she started climbing over the baby gate across the laundry door by reaching up with her front paws, and pulling herself over. We had to start shutting the door to the room, instead of letting her have fresh air and be able to see out. She has to pull her broken leg to move around, and what bothers me the most is that when she pulls it the pad on that foot is curled under. I'm not sure if it will be permanently like that or not.

I've finally figured out a way to give her the medicine without strangling her or getting scratched, so at least that is an improvement. I'm working from home most of the week so that I can keep an eye on her.

Thanks everyone for the good thoughts and prayers. I'm hoping that her leg heals so she can use it and the pad on the foot correctly so she can be outside again. She is already very bored -- this is going to be a long 5 weeks....

Marci, Glad Jessie is dong better. She is a fistey little one.

Hi all,

I feel like a great weight has been lifted of my shoulders. I have just had my appointment with the hospital regarding my MRI. It appears I do have wear and tear on my discs but also the MRI Showed that one had ruptured slightly which was why last year my back went into spasm and I couldn't walk. (On CC!) It is however repairing itself.

I now know there was a reason behind my spasm and that has helped to setlle my mind. I do still have to take it easy and no my limitations (if you see me boogying at the dance clubs @ 1am remind me of that ;) )

Lounging and relaxing is what thehospital says -good job im going on a cruise soon!

Sports day was ok as well - we actually had to cut it short because of the sun and heat ( Yes in th UK !!!)

Now I can get back to thinking about my holiday :goodvibes

Marci - IM so glad you cat is doing ok, they can be little terrors when they are in plaster.

Now is anyone going in holiday soon??? :goodvibes

Helen -- that is good news that your back is healing itself. Please be extra careful over the next few days and try to get some rest so that your back can be in the best condition possible.

Hello Mateys!

Marci: glad to hear that Jessie is getting better. Here's :wizard: for a quick recovery.

Helen: Glad your sports day went well and the news on your back is good. If we see :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: late at night we'll be sure to remind you :thumbsup2 We leave for our vacation on the 23rd and will be at BCV till the cruise.

Flo: Hope you had fun babysitting :teeth:

And a big "Arrrrrrrrrgh" to all our other cruisemates pirate:

The big news for us.....we finally got our cruise docs today....not from Brown but via Priority mail. :cheer2:

Well time take the boys to piano lessons....talk to you all soon.

Jen

Jen, babysitting was fun. We played for a while then she fell asleep. ;)

Helen, glad you back is doing better.:thumbsup2

BUMP!!!
Oh no - I found us on the 2nd page! That won't do with only 11 days left!

Flo - Glad that the babysitting went well. :goodvibes

Helen- sorry that your back is giving you trouble, but I'm glad to hear that it is beginning to heal!

Marci - I just know that Jessie is going to do well after your story about how persistant she is. Do you have a good caregiver for her while you're away?

Jen - YAY! Your docs arrived!! :Pinkbounc

Valerie - did you find the scorpion?

Yes! We found the scorpion!! Nicholas my DS9 is sooo responsible but I think he was so tired from our HP trip to England that he forgot and left the lid off. I think I aged 10 years. Luckily he found it before we went to sleep.

Cruise docs - I called and they said I was out of luck for not changing my address (really dumb) and that they would have them at the dock. But I went on line and filled them all out. It was sooo easy! I think it may even help me get through faster because it said my info was in the system. Nice!

Does anyone have an idea of what I could bring to the cruise meet? I would love to add something. I live in CA and I've been trying to think of something. I don't have annual passes to DL so I can't really get anything from there.

We watched the Travel Channel DCL show. My family is getting sooo excited! I'm so thankful for these boards because I forgot about bringing the pillowcase to be signed so I have to get that done!

We're leaving on the 24th for WDW. Can't wait!

Valerie

hi all,

Well Ive got 1 more day at work then I finish for the summer holidays :thumbsup2 .

Straight after school tonight I went into town and called in @ the local tourist information office. I bought 20 large postcards, and 10 glittery rulers with City of Sunderland printed on them. (also a little something for Tif who can't eat choc because of her braces ;) So I guess Im set for the dismeet!

I will have to apologise now, because im terrible @ remembering names. I'll wear an England Tshirt so you'll spot me a mile off.

Im so excited - it will be really strange hearing your voices and my funny accent :rotfl:

Valerie - is CA california?

My friend who I work with has just got a teaching placement in Miami and will be teaching kindergarden for a year - her visa came through yesterday and she is flying out next Monday. Lucky her!! Just means shes going to get very little rest. We are having a goodbbye BBQ for her on Saturday.

For those who are going to WDW before hand, where are you stopping ?
We are going on 27th to SSR, never stopped there before so we are looking forward to it. We have Adrs for the new Turf Club there and OHanas on the Friday.

Oh well better get tidying
Take care H

Helen - CA is California. I'm a 2nd grade teacher. What do you teach? I thought of you yesterday because I found 10 pounds in the dryer. I thought I had spent all of it so maybe we can trade!!
Can you think of anything from CA that you want?
I did think of passing out glow sticks that maybe we could wear to the Pirate party. What do you think?

I have got to get off these boards!! Like others I have lost some weight (from a size 16 to a 12) but if I sit here any longer I am going to gain it back!!

We are staying at the All Star Sports hotel from the 24th-28th and then at the AKL the night of the 29th. We have a shuttle from there to the port.

Valerie

Hey Valerie,

I know my kids would love glow sticks...funny how kids get really excited by that kind of stuff...and to be able to use it on Pirate night would be great!

Also to post a pic you need to load it somewhere on the web...I use photobucket...once its loaded there I use the IMG link here ( the mountain looking icon) to put it in the post. HTH

Later today I'll post our family pic too....I did it way earlier in this thread but since we are getting close would be nice to see cruise mate pics again.

Hi Valerie,

I teach children aged 5 -8yrs old ( not all in one class) I work parttime and cover different classes in my school.

I think Glow sticks would be a great idea - thanks.

Welll done on the weight loss - although I know what you mean about sitting @ the computer - its not doing my back any good.

So you have been laundering money have you :rotfl: Yes im sure we can trade ;)

night all, im off to bed

Hello everyone! I can't believe how close it is! The kids rooms are finally repainted and furniture back. The electrician only has one more day to come by (tomorrow) to fix things and then we go back to normal (ish) at our house.

Helen, I too, can not wait to meet everyone. I'm usually the queen on hovering around the drink table or watching all the kids - I'm shy and I feel akward just striking up a conversation with people I don't know.

I'm bringing Pirate bands and stickers for the dismeet and Phillys own - tastycakes - since cheese steaks or salt pretzels would really not make it. :rotfl:

Have a great day everyone. I'm so excited
