Hi all,

I just called DCL and put in a request to have the 8pm seating for dinner. We tend to always get given the 8:30 but sometimes its nearly 9 before you start.

I can't wait to see my KttW card to see if I got it!

What dinner sitting are you on?

Take care

:wave2:

I was looking over the thread about dressing up on Pirate night and getting into the spirit. We already have costumes since last Halloween we went to a pirate themed party but I'm not sure the boys ( DH and DSs) want to dress up.

Is anyone planning to dress up? pirate:

;) Helen: We have the early Dinner.

:sunny: I don't even dress up for Halloween. So no we are not dressing up. I bought hats. eye patches and some pirate jewelery. That is about it for us ;)

I checked our ressie and we have the 8:30  - Not sure how the kids will do - but figure there is enough stuff that they can eat a snack earlier. Any other dis'rs with an 8:30 that might want to sit together?
My dd (7) CAN NOT WAIT to get dressed up for Pirate night. My 12 yo - is doing the "Mom- How uncool are you. Will they let me sit by myself routine" :rotfl2: So her nerdy mother (who undoubtly will overpack) will bring things and let her decide once she sees "What all the other girls" are doing.

Hi all,

Just wanted to share with you - Dave and Myself have been out since 6am this morning and we just got back about 30 mins ago. But it was worth it ;)

The dogs today, ran their little hearts out and we managed to beat all the other teams in our division to come 1st :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
It was esp pleasing as our anchor dog, who is very nervy, was chased by another dog from the other team that we were racing.

The racing was really exciting, it was best of 5 legs in each race and we took them to 5 most times.

I think Ben is as proud as punch too, I've just taken this photo of him wearing his rossette.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Sorry of going on - IM sooo tired but it was pleasing. I only hope that in the future my back will become stronger so that return to running him. Its really hard watching Dave, im really grateful but I trained him ( Ben , not Dave that is  )

Oh well, hope you had a good Sunday -
Speak soon xx

Helen -- congratulations! That is wonderful news.

HI ALL!!!

Wow! Thank you all for the birthday wishes to Abby!!! She was a bit overwhelmed! That doesn't happen often...especially at the very mature age of 14!!!!
She had an AMAZING birthday. Yesterday was the Sectional track meet...I ended up helping time and all the timers wished her a happy birthday. Slight mortification occurred but nothing life threatening! Anyway, Abby is going to STATE in the hurdles! This is her first year in track so it is really amazing!!! :yay: Our Scholastic Bowl team just took second in state this weekend too! :cool1: Abby will get to compete in the State finals and then rush over to another meet to compete in the Parochial state meet for the 200M and the High Jump!

Helen...WOOHOO!!! WAY TO GO!!! :dog: Congrats to you and Dave and Ben!!!! It must be hard to watch him run and know that you want to be out there too! He must really want to do well FOR you!
So far, no silence yet! :teeth:

Jen, I know what you mean about the shopping thing. Our boys have always had tuxes...but Iain just outgrew his. Tom isn't thrilled about having to order new ones. It is just cheaper to buy than to rent for the boys. Tom has had his forever!!! Abby has a better cruising wardrobe than most women have for their entire wardrobe. The thing is, she is easy to dress. Granted, she puts her basketball shorts and tee on for the most part though!!!
We dress up minimally for pirate night. The boys do a bit more. Tom and I tend to be a bit more tropical. How I would love to dress up as Captain Jack Sparrow though.! Maybe as an Elizabeth Swann?? Reality sets in though!

Well, a bit chatty. Sorry!

OH...we are early dining! I hate being too full late!

Love to you all!!!
Pixie Dust...

:thumbsup2 Heln: Congrats! YOu could see how proud he is with his award in the picture.

;) Tif: Abby is going to be quite busy. Congrats to her :cheer2: Way to go. :thumbsup2 We have the early seating to. We are at 6:00. Have have to agree with you I just do not want to eat that late and go to sleep. :sunny:

:sad2: For us yesterday ws kind of a sad day. :sad1: It was are last baseball game of the season.:rolleyes2 I love baseball. You could see in the Graduating seniors how hard it was for them. We had a picnic after and that part was nice. I do have to share something that I was soooooooo surprised with. After the senior were announced and given there present, we were all about to walk off the field and they told me to say. At that point my son came up to me with a bag and card. Inside the bag was an engraved Star that said (MSOE 2006 Team Mom). That was bad enough then in the card they all signed it. By then I had tears going down my cheeks. Then they all took a picture with me. It was just so touching. :flower1: There is always next year. ;)

I am so glad that I have the cruise to plan for. I just ordered new luggage from overstock.

Flo...Oh my goodness!!! I had tears in my eyes as I read about your day! What a positive influence you are! College age boys to be so thoughtful, means that YOU have touched them poignantly!!! Well done!!! Sorry that it is done though!!!

To everyone...DH and I actually got a couple of pics up on the DCL Pic of the Day thread!!! Our first!!! The pics are of our two boys...Iain,11, is the blonde and Alec, 9, is the brunette.

Again...Helen, congrats. And Flo...congrats and I can only hope we will do as well to hope that our children will think of us as highly as they grow older!!!

Happy Sunday all!!
Tif :)

;) Tif, Thanks! Are team has alot of parent support. ANd now a days that is very important.

I tried to look for ;your pictures, were are they located on the board? I would love to see them. :)

Ahhh....That was so nice! You must be so proud! Senior "lasts" are bitter sweet moments. It really hits you that they are growing up. My dd #3 graduated from HS last year and I remember so many of those moments. :grouphug:

snip <I think Ben is as proud as punch too, I've just taken this photo of him wearing his rossette. >

Flo,

I second Marci...awesome pics!!! Are you framing the letter and the pic with the team????

The photos that I put up were under the DCL picture of the Day...page 215, I think.

So, Jen and Marci...how were your weekends???? Good I hope!

njmom23grls...are your daughters coming with you??? How many do you have in college????

Night all...DH is VERY ready for bed. It's been a LONG weekend!

Pixie Dust Blessings to all of us!!!! :tink:
