Any one on 7-29-06 / 7 Night Western!!!! Is Back

;) Hi Tif! My name is Flo. We live in Streamwood. I know were Naperville is . I have driven through it may times. When my son was in High School we played at Naperville High school. My couns also live in Plainfiled. I have famly up this way and also all over the south side of the city. I also have Famly that lives in Florida now. I can't remember were that I have to check.
We eventuly would like to live in Florida near Disney. I could handle that just fine. But we will have to wait a while till my son is out of college. I would like to stay near by. Righ now he is only an 1 1/2 away. ;)

Hi Flo! How hard is it to have your kids head off to college??? We allowed our daughter-13-to head out to Colorado to ski with her best friend and her family. We had been neighbors for 10 years and think the world of them...but I miss her terribly. Even our sons are having trouble with her gone! We are taking our DD's BF with us on the 7-29-06 cruise!

Where does you son go to school??? What year and what is he studying??

We are planning to make central FL home when all three are in college. If you want to start doing research let me know! We love where we are down here. Out of a lot of traffic, close to the parks, and closer still to golf!

Have a great day!

Hi Tif! Just got home from watching my son play baseball in Madison, WI. It is about a two are ride for us. Next Saturday we are about 3 hours from home. Oh Well!
Mys son is a Sophomore at Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). It is near were the Milwaukke Buks play. He is going into Architectural Engineering.
Is it hard when they go to college? For me it was . I only have him. But now when he is home for the summer it is strange.
We will have to talk about research. I know we are going to do it. It does not hurt to find out about it.
Take care
Flo

HI!
We are definitely onboard for the July 29th cruise. We have two cat 7s. Usually do a cat 4...3 kids...but decided to take our DD's best friend with us too. So this configuration sleeps 6! Hoping that it will work out well.

I am Tiffany, DH-Tom, DD-Abby 14 at the time, DD's best friend-Tine 15 at the time, DS-Iain 11 turning 12 onboard, and DS-Alec 10 at the time! We like Eastern better, but needed the timing on this one. Have you been on board since the new villas in the spa opened up??? To die for!!!! Make plans to indulge!

Hey Tif, it looks like we are doing 2 cruises together. We are booked on the 11 night med cruise (28th July) too.

It only just occurred to me as I was reading the cruise meets boards.

;)

Hi FLo!

Architectural Engineering! WOW! He wouldn't have any Disney dreams of designing down here, would he??? :thumbsup2 Our 11 year old is our meticulous one and he has had mumblings of getting a degree in Engineering...not decided which kind. That will probably change along the way. The boys are planning on being the first brother team to play on the Ryder Cup team together. One of our dearest friends is getting his MD/doctorate in Biomedical Engineering...takes neurons and creates cell regeneration! YIKES!!!!

Anyway, it is wonderful that you are able to still go to his ball games...and that he wants you there! Best compliment to parenting! Well,

Have a great day!
Wishing you bunches of pixie dust,

HI HELEN!!!

Well, it looks like we are going to HAVE to get together if we are cruising twice! WOOHOO!! By the way....great shot of your Border Collie!!!! We have a yellow lab named Libby...Liberty Grace. She is a sweetheart! My DH just put the kabosh on getting another. A friend emailed saying a young couple just had a baby and can't keep their 7 month old yellow lab! Oh so tempting. Did I read that you have three???

What do you enjoy doing onboard the most???? Hard to narrow it down!

Wishing you pixie dust, :tink:

Hi Tif

Libby is a lovely name for your lab - I bet she's cute. Yes I do have 3 dogs ( I know im mad) Sally who is 13 and a bit, Ben (pictured) who is 4 and Floss who is 14 months old (the trouble maker !) Ben competes in a team doing flyball and Floss is in training!

I can't think what I enjoy doing on the ship - chilling mainly. As I've only done short cruises in the past, I am really looking forward to doing the galley tour (if I can get tickets) and spending more time on board!

Dave loves scuba diving - Does anyone else? Sadly I can't because of my back. :sad2: He is hoping to do the 2 tank dive @ Grand Caymen (excursion).

Its nearly time to book - :hourglass

Also Im hoping to get a Palo Brunch & dinner!

Well its late here and Im off to bed - to dream about cruising no doubt ! :rolleyes1

Tif, It is funny you said that about Disney. One of the guys on his floor just transferred there from doing an internship at Disney. He asked Steven if he was intrested and said sure.
As far as baseball they are all a great bunch of boys( or should I say young men). The parents that can come do. Some of them live to far away. ;)

Do you have anyone in the dental field??? How did you come up with Floss? My DH, Tom, is a dentist. The kids would have been tickled with that for a name!

As to your back, have you seen a chiropractor at all??? Palmer grads are the best, at least in my book. My dad had been one for almost 4 decades...first chiro in central Illinois to earn hospital privileges! Anyway, I don't try to convert...but I do encourage you to see one if you haven't already! And the best thing for you is to DO EVERYTHING YOUR DOC TELLS YOU!!! Well, within reason  I hope it will be okay for you on the cruises. If you do have any problems definitely talk with the gals and guys up in the spa and see if they can get you through. Some days I think they work actual miracles up there!!!!!!

Have a great night! :tink:

Hi Flo!

My cousin went through the college program and loved it. She ended up going back to UNI and got her degree, then went back to Disney and went through the management college program! For her it was a phenomenal experience!

What position does your son play?? My DH and I met on a softball field! Have a great night!

Wishing you Pixie Dust,

;) Hi Tif! My son is a catcher. It can be nerve racking at times for me.

Keep him on Glucosamine and Condroitan! It could help keep his joints in good shape for many years to come!! Enjoy watching!

Good night!

Okay -- I need advice. I'm beginning to panic about booking excursions. I can book soon and haven't made up my mind. I've been reading on the main thread and have a passporter (although the new one I ordered still hasn't arrived....) plus I've gone to the websites recommended on doing things on your own. I have made one decision -- Key West. We are going to do that on our own. I asked Shirley (a regular on the cruise thread -- owns The Perfect Gift) to send me brochures on Key West. She is from there, and if you send her a self-addressed large envelope with postage on it she will fill it with brochures and send it back.

My kids love the beach -- we don't live close to one, so their first love is digging in the sand, building sand castles and playing in the surf. My DH also is not much of a swimmer, so he's not in to snorkeling. He doesn't mind going so I can, but I'm gearing this trip towards what the boys like so snorkeling isn't high on our list either. We have done Grand Cayman with the boys several years ago on one of my company retreats, so they've seen the turtle farm, hell etc. though they don't remember much.

That was TMI, but I wanted to give you background.

Has anyone personally (or heard through a friend about them) been on any of the beach excursions offered in Grand Cayman or Cozumel? I'm learning towards doing both places on our own, but want to know if anyone has info they are willing to share on either Disney-led excursions or doing these on their own.

Thank you!

Hi Marci and all-

I know what you mean we can book this weekend too :thumbsup2

We are going round key west on our own. We would love to see sunset @mallory square but not sure what time the sun will be setting in July. :confused3 Don't know how that fits in with ship departure?

Dh is a scuba diver so IM going to book the Grand Cayman dive excursion for him. (SHHH Its a surpise, he thinks we are going to the 7 mile beach on our own) It will mean however that I'll be hanging around the ship waiting for his return before I venture on the island. ( I can think of worse places to hang around :goodvibes ) Looking at the past navigators his tour leaves @ 8am so hopefully he'll be back around 1:30 so we can have a look around the shops. ;)

As for on Cozumel we are going to the beach on our own - I can't decide between Paradise island and MR Sanchos -Any ideas. ( Both have websites you can visit)
I have found a really good website that has loads of info on cozumel, esp the beaches and transport

its www . cozumel insider . com

Priority for us is booking Palo -we would like brunch on the Monday and dinner on Thursday - Keep your fingers x for us. ;)

We are going away in our motorhome (RV) for Easter as we have a dog competition. We leave tommorrow and dont get back until Sunday night.

Happy Easter to all.

Hi Tif

:lmao: No LOL we dont know any dentists - Floss is an old fashioned sheep dog name in the UK :rotfl2:

As for my back, I'm currently having hydrotherapry & acupucture. I am also awaiting results of a recent MRI scan So please keep your fingers x . The orthopedic consult told me when I was in my 20's that I have the back of a 70yr old!
:sad2: Sadly im not allowed to have any more massages as my discs are too unstable :sad2: , so this year im going to have the frangipan (sp?) scalp massage and pedicure instead! :thumbsup2

Helen -- thanks for the info. We, too, want to do Palo on Thursday night.

That is very nice of you to book that dive for your DH!! You are more than welcome to hang out with us on GC. Let's see..... beach excursion with family with two brothers who nag each other, or quiet ship time....what a difficult decision...NOT! But seriously, you are welcome to go with us.

I have looked at the site for Mr. Sanchos, but I didn't feel like it was very informative. I e-mailed them a number of questions, so hopefully they will answer soon. Thanks for the other link -- I'll check it out after work.

Fingers crossed and prayers said for your back and MRI.

Good luck at the dog competition and safe travels!

Anyone else with advice/information?
