Any one know why LTT serves StouffersMac&Cheese?

Is it one of those corporate tie-ins?

Homemade mac and cheese is not that hard and would seem to be a great dish to make LTT stand out. Many Southern style restaurants can do it why not Disney (think Paula Dean).

In fact, if Applebee's can have Tyler Florence LTT should get Paula Dean!

You know it's the one thing that bothers me. I was supposed to eat there last year, but chickened out. I have reservations this year before MNNSHP so I figured the time/location/characters etc would make up for it..........but that is yukky stuff (although my kids will eat it) and to me having it on the menu of an expensive meal is like a red flag :confused3 :confused3 I don't know what to do :confused3 :confused3 Keep the ADR who find something else outside the park as I'm sure all inside is booked.

Don't think it is worth cancelling dinner there. The food is great and you don't have to eat the mac and cheese. I, however, personally prefer lunch to the character dinner. I thought the food was better.

We ate there last May and the food was really good. (even the Mac and Cheese!)

I think they just use Stouffer's recipe/ingredients...... I don't think they are in the kitchen microwaving hundreds of frozen mac n cheeses.

I know the meal is sponsored by Stouffers, but I've been there a few times and it has always been good. The food is always fresh and it never seemed like something that was a pre-made or frozen dish. I have had stouffers mac and cheese from the freezer case at the grocery store and it tastes nothing like the mac and cheese that is served at LTT, and if you go for the Character Dinner, you are more or less paying for the character dining experience rather than the food anyways. It is worth trying though.

We've eaten here twice for dinner and have decided that that's enough for us. BION though, I liked the mac 'n cheese. I'm not too picky when it comes to this dish. Yeah, we make the homemade variety at home but I'll eat it out of the box too. The rest of the food here is lacking though. It' just too expensive for what ya get.

Interesting . . . and San Angel Inn serves Tostitos, which seems incredibly lazy for a Mexican restaurant. The restaurants are usually full--why do they need sponsorship?

I just wanted to say...

I work (worked? still sort of am on staff) at a restaurant and have for a long time. You would be surprised to learn that the restaurant I work at, which is a major, major chain in the U.S., serves Ball Park pre-packaged hot dogs and Easy Mac for our kids meals. It's easy to forget when you're not behind the scenes, but restaurants---especially the ones in Disney---deal with very, very high sales volumes. As much as it would be nice to have the ability to use your own recipes and not buy/cook in bulk, it's the only way. It's one thing at a place like California Grill, where you would expect a longer prep time but amazing results; at a place like LTT, I imagine the guests would become fairly irate if they were waiting 45 minutes for their meal (especially if there are children waiting!)

I'm not a CM, so I can't say for sure; I just wanted to throw my two cents in.

(And remember to tip your waitress! ;))

Personally, I can't think of a macaroni and cheese (homemade or otherwise) that I like better than Stouffers! Macaroni is al-dente, the cheese is creamy, cheesy, tangy, flavorful. It fits the bill for me! :thumbsup2

When we ate there I thought the Mac & Cheese tasted identical to the frozen Stouffers version. Since Stouffers sponsers the restaurant, it makes sense. We've enjoyed lunch at LTT but don't do dinner there anymore. The character interaction is good at dinner but not the food. I don't actually have anything against the Mac & Cheese, I just don't want to see it (or the other clearly pre-packaged foods served at dinner) at a restaurant for $25 or more a person. A friend and I are taking the kids soon and when making ADR's I asked her about LTT character dinner. She said no way.

I was thinking just that. My entire family loves the stuff and if they are serving it there then I know that no matter what other food they serve my kids will eat the mac n cheese. Stouffer's is nothing like the dry box kind at all. I have never been to WDW but I have been to DL at least 50 times and if you had been going there you would know how truely awful Disney food can be (not counting CA). As far back as I can remember Disney always has had sponsers for their foods (Carnation for example). As a pp mentioned that they should get a celebrity like Paula Deen for a resturant (makes me think of Universal). Now I love Paula Deen but she doesn't need any advertisement so instead of a resturant being sponsered, Disney would have to pay her a pretty penny.

It's called advertising. The restaurants pay Disney for this sponsorship in order to get their products in front of millions of people.

I don't think I would cancel a reservation over mac n cheese. We have eaten there several times, and I actually think the mac n cheese is good! :goodvibes

But there are plenty of other things to eat if you don't think so. The salad and rolls are yummy. :)
