I have read tons of really bad reviews everywhere about the westgate resorts and their awful salesmen & presentations. However, this was after I booked at a great rate for 7 days by agreeing to the presentation. We needed the size of the room that we got and couldn't afford it any other way. I realize that I got a great deal only b/c we agreed to attend, that it may take a little longer than the 90 minutes and I am totally prepared to show no interest, stay only as long as necessary, and forcefully say "NO" to everyone in sight, lol. With this in mind, has anyone else done this and came out unscarred, and actually enjoyed the resort? Thanks for any info!!

made the appointment for their sales pitch for the last day so they won't ruin your trip.

You will be fine.

Westgate and Fairfield are into the guilty trip...."If you don't buy from us there must be something wrong with you." They are very, very, very good at during this to people.

THEY are the problem - not you.

the resort is lovely!!!

oh they will try their best to get you to agree to do it the first thing. then the rest of the trip is ruin because of the guilty that these horrible sales people live off.

I got taken by Westgate.

So I try to warn others so they won't be taken.

If you sign remember it is not the end of the world - you can get out of the contract. You have 10 days to get out. FLORIDA LAW!!!

Another reason to do the sales pitch at the end of your stay. You will have most of this time at home to think. Westgate doesn't want to think about your purchase.

Also go to some resale sites and print their prices for Westgate. If the sale people get really pushly - just show them you know what the real price is....

that hopefully will stop it.

Thanks so much!! I feel better already. Can't wait to print out some info to have in hand!

Tell them you're skipping the breakfast...Take your watch and set it on the table..tell them their 90 minutes starts NOW.

Are your kids going to go to the Kids Center? If they're old enough to tell time, tell them to start asking for you at that point - tell the "babysitters" that you will be back in 90 minutes.

Be prepared to get up and start walking away from the table after the 90 minutes, firmly and nicely repeating:
"We're done,
We're not buying"..

Just remember to have fun :teeth:
We've told the salespeople that they have to -statistically - get a number of no's before they get a yes..and laughed out loud when they respond "but everyone says yes!"

Then when I mentioned the resale market - great idea to take a printout, Spicey:) - they actually said, "Oh, no owner has EVER wanted to sell their unit here!!!!" :rotfl: :rotfl:

Have a good time, enjoy your vacation :goodvibes
