I saw a real deal today at staples for the easy share z650 with the dock for 159ish They are selling just the camera on line for 229 ..If you have it show me some pics and tell me what you like or dislike...thanks

ok no body has this camera because it isnt any good or what???? Ok do you have a kodak easy share period?

If you use the search buttons above, there are three old threads about that camera. You can also do a search for Kodak Easyshare and get lots of information. As for this thread, it might help if you make the title more general, like Kodak Easyshare, then ask for opinions on that brand in general and your model in particular. There are also some digital camera websites that offer in depth review like Steve's Digicam and others - not sure of their exact names. Good luck!

I don't have an EasyShare z650, but I did look at this one as well as the z710 and z612. I just purchased the z612 one last week for $190. I chose this one because this was the only high zoom camera that Kodak offered image stabilization. Image stabilization was one feature that I had to have.

I know the z650 doesn't have image stabilization, but I say it is a very good price for a high zoom camera and a printer dock.

ok so what is the image stablization for when you do the sports mode or is it for shaky people?

I have the model that the z650 replaced. The z650 has 12x zoom vs the 10x on mine and I think it's a megapixel higher. Oh, and it's silver instead of black.

So that said, I really loved my Kodak. Til I heard about and saw the Canon S3 (just ordered it woohoo!). We paid $500 for my Kodak (faint) in December 2004 and that included the charging dock, not the printer dock.

Things I love:
The charging dock - amazing. So easy and fast to charge. Easy to see how much battery life you have. Uploading is a breeze - you can set it up to do it automatically when it's charging, and then you can set the easyshare software to then upload to the Kodak Easyshare Gallery online. Their prints are cheap and you can have them picked up at your local CVS, etc to save shipping charges and time. The battery life is great. Large LCD is nice and isn't a battery sucker like my old HP camera (piece of junk). The easyshare software itself is very easy to use. Limited functions but you can easily remove redeye, crop, etc.

Don't love:
If you zoom past 2-4x, you need a tripod or your shot will be blurry. Doesn't matter how still you think you are. This is one reason I am getting the S3 - it has image stabilization like another poster referred to. It is a shame that the Kodak doesn't have IS - it would have made it practically perfect for me. IT really is a must, esp. with a high zoom camera. I have gotten around it lately by taking pics without zoom on the highest setting possible (for the best resolution) and then cropping them once they are uploading. Works ok.

Action shots tend to be blurry even in sports mode. My kids play a lot of sports so this stinks for me.

Shutterlag can be a PITA sometimes. Low light shots are iffy. It was near impossible to get a good fireworks shot at WDW. Even with a tabletop tripod. :( That was really disappointing to me. That is another reason I am getting the Canon.

All that said, that is an EXCELLENT price for that camera with the printer dock. I hope I didn't just confuse you more.
