Any one else just have an earthquake?

I'm at work and the whole fire house started shaking. That was really really weird. Anyone else just experience that? By the way, I'm in the Finger Lakes region of NY.

Oh my gosh!!! Is that what just happened?? I'm in upstate NY - in the Adirondack Mountains - and just a few minutes ago I could hear a "rumble" and one whole side of my place started shaking!! Pipes were rattling - cable wire was slapping on that side of my place - and since I was here for that earthquake in April a number of years ago, I wondered if it was another one..

It was odd though - how it was just on the one side.. If you felt so far west of me - and I felt it here - I wonder where the heck the epicenter was??

I was going to post about this myself - but then thought possibly it wasn't an earthquake again because of the issue of it shaking just one side of my place here..

there was a 5.5 magnitude quake up on ontario/quebec - you probably felt part of it.

It looks like it was in the 5 something magnitude. If you go to this website they have a place to report if you felt it too.

Yep.. They just ran it across the bottom of the tv screen.. Hope there are no after shocks.. That one that happened years ago scared the bejeepers out of me as I had never felt one before..

Yes just felt it in Michigan. 30 mins northeast of Detroit.

Crazy! Made my chair rock side to side.

Felt it in Buffalo, funny my Mom didn't feel and she is down the street.

Many in my office (downtown Toronto) felt it, though I was in the shower after a work out and missed it. Some others, same office, had no idea....go figure. It is pretty wide spread.

Strangely enough, there were 2 US helicopters flying over at the same time and with the G20 summit happening starting tomorrow, we were all wondering what was going on. Earthquake was the last thing on our minds.

I live in the Akron, Ohio area. Someone in our office bldg called me and asked if I felt it. Being in the basement I didn't. It was only after I logged on to a Cleveland TV station's web site that I learned of it!

The Trib is reporting people in Chicago felt it. I am about 35 miles north of the city and did not. Seems to be hit and miss.

I'm in Northeast Ohio along the lakeshore and boy did I feel it! Seems to have been felt in a very widespread area.

I'm in Ottawa and we certainly felt it. Apparently the epicenter is only 53km from here. It was scary. Thankfully I was at my kids school watching their talent show so I felt comfort knowing I was with my little ones. I haven't heard of any damage in the city yet. Hopefully its limited.

I was at a stop light on the Western tip of Montreal and I kept telling my friend (large guy over 350 lbs) to quit rocking the van.


He just called me to say "see I told ya it wasn't me"

I'm in Ottawa and it rattled the house for quite awhile. I went outside to talk to the guys doing construction, because I thought maybe they'd done something. Then another woman came out with her baby in her arms and said, "Can you still feel it?" It sort of kept rumbling on a low level for awhile.. Maybe we could feel it more because our neighbourhood is on bedrock?

Anyway, no damage. My son has a friend over, though, and when his dad called he said he'd lost power.

I've been answering calls from family all day. My daughter called from school and was relieved to hear that everything was fine.
