I come online and read all about everyone getting a pin, and I am so frustrated! :headache: I have completed all the steps suggested by everyone on here, and nothing...I mean nothing! We have a trip planned for the FD, but we also know we would like to go back.

I just want that pin! LOL! :rotfl:

Ok, I am finished whining, what a baby I am!

Anyone else feel like this? :confused3

It took us two years. We just book what we can afford and go with it. This year we planned on staying at AKL, had it all booked, planned and set - then got our pin and upgraded. It was like a sprinkle of magic. I know it's probably not what you want to hear, but if you plan your vacation without the pin - getting it just makes it better. I'll also tell you that getting the pin didn't make our vacation cheaper, it ended up costing us a few hundred more to use it. We couldn't apply it to our existing reservation because they were sold out of rooms under the pin at our resort - so we had to switch. Granted we moved from AKL to YC, so I'm not complaining, but it's something to consider. Many people find themselves in the same situation attempting to use their pins (forced upgrade).

You might consider looking at AAA rates, which depending on your season of travel could save you up to 15 or 20% on the room portion. That is how we were booked prior to the pin. Good Luck :)

If you're already going to WDW, and staying in a Disney hotel, take a look at the bounceback offer in your room. It was running at 40% off for Deluxe resorts, 45% for Deluxe Villas as of last week. We were staying at AKL, so maybe the bouncebacks are keyed to the type of resort, but I don't know that for sure. I didn't get a PIN, either, but I did book the bounceback while we were there.

It works out to a similar discount based on the percentages I'm hearing about PINs. There are some blackout dates, and some limits on the types of rooms, but if it works for you...

I know what you mean about booking anyway, that is what we did with the current trip we have planned. We really want to stay deluxe, but, can't justify it without a big discount. The free dining allowed for us to get two rooms at Pop, and the upgraded dining for just a little more then the one room at POR we had reserved with QS. It wont hinder me from planning, it will just change things for us a bit.

2 years! definitely not what I want to hear! We got a pin literally right after we booked, but, I had vacations saved for about three weeks before I booked. Maybe it will happen again!:)

When we go in October, when would a bounceback offer be good for? What time frame? I am definitely going back for the Princess 1/2, but, we are for sure going back next year also.

If I remember ours from our room a few weeks ago we had to book before we checked out to get the discounts.

I don't get pins either and I've tried hard!!

Today, finally, in the mail, I got the 40% off monster discount. But, it is not valid for our stay!! We begin on Oct 10th. The discount ends Oct 9th and doesn't resume until the 24th. :(

I still keep hoping for some sort of big discount! Would love free dining, but either way, we're going to Disney!! :)

I feel your pain. I feel like everyone else but me has gotten a pin and I have tried everything! Only 7 weeks left until our trip!

Yes, I'm also frustrated! I want the excitement of opening a piece of mail and having an offer to evaluate. An email would work just as well!

I'm frustrated too but for a different reason...I have posted a few times already about getting pin codes in my email but with my sister's name. They tell me I can't use them unless she's with me. I have been trying for a year or longer to get her name off my email; I have made numerous phone calls. I emailed guest services a month ago and was very excited to finally get a reply last week telling me it's all straightened out. Finally! Until today, when the Monster Code came in my email in...my freakin sister's name.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!

We've been going to Disney for years and I got my first PIN today. Of course, we're already booked for dates not included....may have to reconsider our plans now.

Why don't you push your vacation start date to Oct. 9? I may be wrong, but I think if your vacation starts on a day included in an offer that the discount would apply to your entire stay.

I got a pin code in my grandmother's name at our address. Hilarious! It was for this summer, so we knew we would not be able to use it. It makes me regret ever putting her address the same as mine, but, I didn't want her getting all the Disney mail and getting all confused about it. I will say though, if I had known about pin codes before I booked the first time, I probably would have reconsidered it.

Also, I'm confused about something, if the pin code comes to my address with my grandmother's name on it, she has to travel with us. Does that mean that the reservation has to be in her name, or just that she has to be with us?

We're locked in with our dates because of my hubby's vacation time.

We start our travel on the 9th, we are taking the auto train, but arrive on the 10th.

I'm okay with paying full price, I have it all saved up, but a discount would be lovely!

I feel your pain. I too have not ever gotten a pin. I have four email accounts, done all the little tricks, called CRO to see if a pin is attached to my name and nothing.

I got a spam email today from Disney Destinations and got so excited, but it was just some newsletter type thing. So hope dashed.

It just stinks when you know how people get pins, sometimes more than one.

Maybe we'll all get lucky soon with a general public discount. I sure hope so.:goodvibes

It seem like so many are getting pins, yet when I read some post I realize there are more still waiting.

DH and I have AP's we usually get a good AP rate. We were in Florida staying off site with friends, in March renewed our passes then. When we got home I booked a Disney Trip, (room only) hoping to get a good AP rate. I've never gotten a pin before.

I was reading about all the great rates everyone was getting and hoping AP rates would come out soon.

About 3 weeks ago opened my e-mail and there was a pin, 20-30-40. I had little hope it would work with my present ressie and as I had not booked airfare yet was willing to change, e-mailed my Dream Agent with the #. Sure enough I could apply it to my present ressie (a savings of over $2100) There were no black-out days so all 7 nights were discounted.

Do not know how or why I got this pin, never gotten one before, I can only say I'm was on the passholder site daily hoping it see what was coming out and if it would be worth it to change our ressie. I did start to fill out a planning schedule the week I got the pin. It did ask a few questions. If I wanted to make a ressie? my reply was I already had one. If I wanted to purchase passes? my reply was I already had them. When was the last time we were there? March. Plus a few other questions. Plus I had a few saved dates on their site.

Don't know it any of that helped but I got the pin shortly after.
