Dh and I find ourselves comparing everything to WDW now. It's not like we try to, but nothing compares. Last 4th of July we laughed at how small the fireworks here were. When we go to hotels, we feel like they are so small, dirty, and boring. We went to the zoo with his family this weekend, and laughed at the comparisons to AK(this is NOT not a zoo...). Do all of you have these moments regularly as well? Like everything is lacking in comparison??

Ooooooh yes, I know that feeling. Particularly here in the UK. Americans do seem to do everything so much better then us Brits IMHO. The biggest thing missing in any park over here is Americans, even when it comes to Disneyland Paris. You guys (I say "you" because I think that is the majority of the readers of this) are always so friendly and cheerful, always makes the holiday for me. You just don't get that happy attitude over here.

I have been spoiled too! I compare everything to WDW. And I admit - I am a hotel snob because of Disney!

I totally agree! We went to Kings Dominion last summer and all we kept saying all day was "This sure isn't Disney". The place was dirty and I kept wanting to get a Fastpass for rides with long waits but they don't have fastpass.

And parades.........forget about it! NOTHING compares to a Disney parade!

My dd won't ride on any other carousel because it's not like the one at the "Mickey House".

I do it too. I know it and I can't help myself.

On too many occassions I find myself answering or making a comparison as follows...
1. I aplogize for the Disney reference but, ...
2. At Disney World, ...

My kids did this when we went to Six Flags Great Adventure. We didn't even park the car when it started. "The park is in a parking lot?" "Where's the theming?" "It's dirty here". "There aren't any characters".
There's only so many times in a day you can say, "It's not Disney. Deal with it."

1. Visiting Venice last June, I thought about Epcot World Showcase. The crowds there were worse than WDW and Epcot is so much cleaner--no crazy pigeons. (Of course I think of the real Italy when I'm at Epcot. Both are fabulous.) I laughed out loud at the thought of comparing St. Mark's Sq. to the Italian pavillion.

2. I teach Hospitality & Tourism and I can't help but compare everything to WDW. Dress code, guest service, technology - WDW has set the standard. My students learn a lot about WDW. As they should! :teacher:

Yes, this is me too. Just got back from a trip to visit family in Canada, and had to stay at a motel overnight for 2 of the nights, and ew, gross. I am a complete hotel snob now!

Also, went to Paramount's Canada's Wonderland. Not Disney. The prices were even higher than Disney's. The food was expensive and sub-par. The rides were fun, but lacked themeing. That's one thing about Disney, they theme every ride. You can't see the frame of the coasters, they are surrounded by theming. My kids won't even go to the Six Flags here in Arlington, TX with free tickets. So dirty. Yes, we are spoiled by Disney! It costs alot of money, but you do get quality. :goodvibes

Right after I did my first Disney College Program I went to 6 Flags World of Adventure in Cleveland... and holy cow did I ever compare the park to florida (granted the park had it moments, like when I had to leave the counter service restruant and go across the "street" to get a coke because they had ran out of it inside........)

Yes! I am a total WDW snob. ;)

Even in Las Vegas, at the Mirage, which is an amazing hotel, I was a little underwhelmed, because the place smelled so smoky. :smokin:

Disney has completely ruined me for other theme parks. Nothing is even remotely close to WDW. Nothing. :thumbsup2

Today was the last day of our county fair here and my dboyfriend and I caught ourselves numerous times passing up the rides because we have only 2 weeks left until we are back in WDW and obviously carnival rides are NO competition to WDW for us!

Absolutely spoiled. Our family always gets the same enjoyment - and incredibly happy feeling - just thinking of past vacations at WDW - or the next one coming up.

Disney does it right. A lot of people think we're crazy for going so much - but there are so many different experiences you can have by staying in a different hotel each time.

Nothing compares.

Count us in. :snooty: :snooty: :snooty:

We have had season passes to Six flags forever. We are thrill ride junkies. But after going to Disney, other parks are so unappealing. Each year, we use our SF season passes less and less. Last year, while at SF we saw this CM dressed as an imitation Cinderella. The bottom of her dress was dirty and the hem was tattered and torn. So sad... :sad2: :sad2: :teeth: Well, when this years SF renewal came in the Mail my DD11 said "Mom, don't waste your money." :rotfl: :rotfl:

:tinker:We are definitely spoiled by the Mouse. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 popcorn::
.I am diffiently spoild by Disney.

I won't even waste my money going to another theme park because they usually are not themed at least not that well if they are and the food is under par.

I would rather go to Disney any day than any where else.

Personally I think it's the Disney magic that makes everyone at Disney so "friendly and cheerful". I remember after I got home from our last trip, I went shopping and was do taken aback by how rude everyone here is. No eye contact from strangers you meet, no smiles, no "how are yous"! I can't wait to get back to Disney where all the happy people are!!

"You see the greatest smiling faces, up and down the street. It's remarkable how friendly all the people can be. I'm walking right down the middle of Main Street USA!" :cheer2: :cheer2:

I totally agree. We live about 1.5 hours from a Six Flags park.
Although I've only been to WDW twice, I really don't like to go to the local parks. It seems really dirty & mostly a place that teenagers hang out. This year we took my teenage daughter & her friends to the park during Spring Break from school. Although the park seemed cleaner than it had the previous time, there was nothing really for me to ride. I'm extremely phobic of roller coasters (I get really sick). The only good thing it had going for it was that they offered a season pass for the same price as a 1 day admission ticket because we lived out of market. What a no-brainer! We bought it but at this point have not been back and don't know if we will. I'm really missing WDW!! :sad2:

To put it simply...YES!! lol

I grew up in Jackson where SF Great Adventure is And I remember my HS Calculus teacher taking time out of class to school us in the differance between Dsiney and SF We hit Kings Dominion and SF Great Adventure every summer and get lots of  from FI because the whole time I am like if this was at disney it wouldnt be stinky or we would have a fastpass or that garbage would be picked up and on and on

Guilty  I just can't help it - Disney does it right and no one else seems to live up to them!!! (IMO)
