Hello There
We are going to book a 4 night cruise for my dh's 50th, we have 2 ds, 12 and 15
and maybe do a few days in the parks too.
Was thinking Feb 2016, how are the islands that time of year? Still warm?
Any info you guys can give would be great!

Thanks!
Debbie

We are cruising first time in Feb 25th to be exact and from all the research, it could be either really nice or not. Just depends on the weather/mother nature. Considering this is El Nino winter, who knows what my cruise weather wise will be. Ill be on a cruise so honestly, I wont care LOL

We cruise every February and it's more a function of what the weather is like where we're coming from (Colorado) than where we're going. By February, everyone's tired of winter wonderland and cold winds and sore from skiing. The water at Castaway Cay can be a bit cold in February, but the weather otherwise is delightfully warm but not hot. We always tack on a day before and two days after a cruise at WDW where crowds are more tolerable because you are not sweltering. Since there's no real down-time at WDW anymore, at least you can go when you won't melt.

my first dcl cruise was in feb and i loved it. very nice weather. calm seas. simply amazing.
we to come from cold, six foot deep, snow in feb so anything above 60 is a bonus.

We typically sail the caribbean in Jan/Feb. We have always had beautiful weather on CC.
The water is a bit chilly, but my husband swears once you're in its fine.

Done several Jan/Feb/Early Mar cruises - weather is typically nice, water is a bit cooler (relatively) but didn't stop me from getting in!

Cruised Presidents' Week 2015. The days we were at St. Maarten and San Juan were beautiful, but the ocean was surge-y. The excursion I was on at St. Maarten we did not get to do all the swimming and snorkeling that usually happened because of the surges. It was chilly and windy on Castaway Day, though by afternoon it had warmed up.

All a function of the cold that was permeating the east coast.

So it really does depend on weather patterns elsewhere.

We like cruising in Jan/Feb due to the calmer weather and lower fares. It is not overly hot, and is almost always just right. Last year at CC it was very cold - the beaches were pretty deserted and almost no one was swimming. But, every day before that was perfect. And other than that one experience at CC, it has always been great weather there.

Sept/Oct might have low fares also, but that is the height of hurricane season, and with the Sandy experience we avoid Disney during hurricane season now. But I would really recommend a November/Jan/Feb cruise...calm seas, beautiful weather, lower fares.

have done several cruises in February and have had amazing weather each time.

We did one cruise in February and for us the water temp's were a little cold for us. If you or your kids are going to want to swim or do any water activities, I would look at pushing the cruise out a couple of months.

I'm glad to hear this, as we are sailing in Feb. of next year and I, too, was wondering what the weather tended to be like. We might make a Feb. cruise over Mardi Gras week our new thang.

Our very first cruise was over Valentines day. The only thing I was not prepared for was the Wind on the upper deck. While we were sailing it was so windy it was pushing the loungers around. While we were in port the weather was great.

We cruised once at the end of March and the wind was a bit less, however all of our shore excursions got canceled because of the choppy water. This was a bit of a disappointment but we found other things to do.

It really depends on the weather at the time you are sailing you could get either of these situations at anytime of the year.
