Any October deals?

We have 4 airline tickets I need to book within a couple weeks and found some cheap rates to Orlando. It would be oct. 6 to 12th. My dh wants to stay offsite because it would be cheaper but I am praying for a deal!

I have never stayed offsite and think it would be a nightmare getting to and from parks with no car.

Any Disney resort deals for that time?

Sorry, I don't have any insiders big secret I'm basing it on what I have read from multiple posters and their conversation with CM's and travel agents, past years experiences, PIN's already distributed, and basic logic - there has to be something by August 15th, anything past that would be a little late if they want to fill rooms for October.
I'm waiting like everyone else and getting very frustrated
