Any numbers akin to a "guest services" number

No proof of purchase because this card is really a card I just use to load money from other cards. So there are funds probably from 3-4 different cards on there. I always delete empty cards right after I transfer the money to be safe. I'm so paranoid of cards I buy from stores even that I immediately transfer them over to my other cards but perhaps someone got a number and Disney somehow traced the funds to having been transferred to my new card. With not a single person at Disney Gift Card to talk to - hard to tell . . .
I’m livid for you OP. This entire situation is absurd. (So absurd I might switch to using a cc for LLs myself.)

I cannot imagine you will ever touch another DGC but for everyone else that dabbles but doesn’t follow our gift card thread key things for your DGCs:
  • Keep a copy all proof of purchase and any activation receipts. If your card is frozen or you have fraud Disney will demand this to release the funds. If you cannot provide it, it may be weeks before you see the funds
  • Spreadsheet it ALL. The gc info, where & when it was purchased, where you sent the funds if you merged them
  • Destroy all DGC after your trip. If anyone copied your gc info from anywhere it won’t do them any good. Get new ones for the next trip. Note if you transferred any funds from old gc to a new one and keep that card separate from other merged funds.
OP, I’m going to follow up with some more nitty gritty in the gc thread. Not that it will help you but it might help us going forward.

My mind is boggled at this situation. I would file a complaint with the FL AG and your state AG if your state does consumer complaints. There is truly nothing else you can do as NOBODY in all of Disney will talk to you when your DGC is this locked. It’s stupid.

I probably will also. Sucks because I work very hard to get my GC savings. I booked my LL w/ GC's right around when OP did. I did get declined with my GC I assume for too many attempts when a LL was sold out so I used another GC. But now I am very worried this could also happen to me.

I am also very upset for op and I really hope guest services in person can help.

It is very doubtful that you have the same specific issue that @DavidNYC reports or rather did not report since they chose to provide no real details as to why their GC was locked. The GC being locked is why all the LL purchases were refunded.

Just know the GC rules and policies and never put more on a GC that you can't avoid to have unavailable for 5-7 business days.

Update:
We finally heard back from Disney Gift Card (despite not being able to call them directly on the phone - once we got someone who was actually in the US based fraud department as opposed to the off-shore call centers they were very efficient). They actually called me 30 minutes prior to getting in my car to drive up to DW - which was about 5 days after I initially reached out to them. As suspected - one of the gift cards that I loaded onto my card had been compromised. By that point I had also been able to get my money refunded from where I purchased the gift card so she was able to remove the compromised funds and unblock my card.

Went to Guest Services at Disney Springs the night before our park day and gave them the saga (they had a number of notes seeing what happened to the LLs) and they gave me 3 anytime passes to use the next day. Because of all of the uncertainty - we ended up just doing the 1 day at the park (although we did from 8:30 am - 1:00 am and 3 parks!)

We got lucky and were able to get a ticket to the first public preview day for Epic Universe on what would have been the second Disney day and it was amazing!

So - in the end - everything worked out although it was a bit of a trek to get there (I added up my call logs - nearly 9 hours on the phone between all of the people I needed to deal with!!)

I’m glad it all kind of worked out in the end and I’m glad they cared when you went to guest services.

Curious when you say compromised, like someone stole your GC # or was it compromised when you bought it?

I believe it had been compromised when it was purchased. The one that caused the problem was one I had gotten less than a week prior. The one that I was using to consolodate all of my cards onto was fine. But because they tracked the compromised funds to that card, they had to freeze the whole card but they said there was no issue with that card number itself.

Glad it worked out in the end but what a nightmare going into it. Strange that one phone call to the account holder could have avoided this whole mess but it was decided that upending an entire trip for a guest was the best way to go about it.

I am no fan of the ice cold steel automated touch these days, I miss the white glove "We love you," customer service that used to be the way to win over customers from competition.
