Any news on the People Mover refurb? (TTA)

Will it open on time? It's supposed to re-open 8/4...

I read this the other day but haven't seen anything else about it. We get there on the 4th so I really hope it opens on time.

In this refurb, we expect no changes.

Just cleaning/painting and repairs.

I think the refurb is more mechanic. It needed it. It was breaking down all the time. I don't think the aesthetics will change but hopefully is runs smoother without so many break downs.

I had to break this news to my husband today. It is his favorite attraction on property. I'm waiting for him to ask me to move dates.

So, please, pixie dust that it's open at the very latest on 8/11!

They should place a replica car near the Astro Orbiter where we can go to mourn and pay our respects until it is resurrected from the dead. Those of us who love this ride could sit in it and pretend for just a moment while we relive the glory days of it's existence. Every once in a while someone could come over and kick the replica so we could experience once again the many bumps and jarring movements that make this ride so.... um.. ? exciting??

I thought I read in another thread yesterday that they don't expect to reopen as scheduled. I was disappointed because our last day in MK is August 6th.

I'll look to see if I can find the thread it was in...

I've loved this ride since I was a kid. Didn't think my kids would like it, not cool enough. they loved it, too much to my surprise

I was afraid of this We get there Aug 9th and leave the 16th. That Aug 5th scheduled opening was a little to close for comfort. First EMH changes and now this ugh! Lol we better get there before anything else changes.
