Any news on the BCV store construction?

We checked out the temp store that was set up in the Childcare area in February. It was a bit sad, but it served the purpose.
I was wondering if anyone has seen any updates lately to the new store and perhaps have any information of when it will be open?

Just returned this weekend from BCV and a CM at the store told us they were moving into the newly remodeled Beach Club Marketplace on Thursday, March 24th.

I am at the BCV right now and the store manager indicated that they are doing a dry run today in preparation for the opening tomorrow, Thursday March 23, 2005.

I just found out this evening that they hit a couple of minor pre-opening snags today and that, as a result, the opening has been postponed until Friday.

I will certainly try to get in there and write up a quick report but that is our departure day and timing might be tight.

BTW, this is our first time at our home resort (first ever DVC stay for that matter) and it is absolutely wonderful! The staff have been great, the 1BR is in great shape with a very nice, quiet view of the back of the Beach Club with the Boardwalk off in the distance.

Hi all!

Sorry I couldn't get any pictures of the new store but it did open as planned on Friday March 25, 2005.

It looks very nice! The entrance closest to the main lobby with the couple of stairs is still there and the section of the store closest to it is pretty much as it was before.

The oppposite end of the store is where the big changes have taken place.

I only had a couple of minutes to wander around before I had to leave so I may miss a few details...

There is a multi cash register station in the middle of the large section of the store. The far end has a significant number of refrigerated cases with grocery items. There is also a deli counter with sandwiches, a gelato counter, soft drink dispensors, etc.

There is still a siginificant amount of merchandise (toys, souvenirs, mugs, etc.) but a large portion of that end section is devoted to the very spacious counter service area.

Sorry about the lack of detail but it is a very nice location, IMHO.

I am wondering about the selection of DVC/BCV merchandise. Has anyone checked it out? Every time we've gone, the selection seemed much smaller at BCV than at other properties.
