Hi, just wondering if Shrek is opening soon?? We are checking in May 31 for 5 days.... Shrek is my all time favorite movie... I sure hope it will be open.. thanks,,amy

I also am very interested to know if Shrek will have a soft opening anytime in May???????????

I had the poor woman at VIP tours leave her desk and ASK her manager about Shrek because I was considering booking IF it was open the end of May. She told me she could not confirm it, the only word they had was it was due to open "this summer"... :(

I HOPE someone on this board has better news!

"This summer" sounds a lot less specific than "June," which is what they've been saying.

Hope this doesn't mean a protracted, Jaws-like delay.

I thought the same thing, Kelly. I even asked about the soft opening. I guess they can't give out info like that for a person counting on that particular part of the tour. I don't blame them.

I'm hoping Shrek won't have Test Track Syndrome and be delayed for years. I don't see Shrek doing that, though.

IMHO - I wouldn't think they would advertise it so much if they wouldn't open it pretty soon. The new ads are great!!!

Anyone who goes to the parks and gets a map will notice a few very new things. Firstoff, Jimmy Neutron is on the cover. Second, it says Shrek is opening June 15. No word on when the technical rehersal begins.

dark maurader--if the park map states the opening as june 15 have you heard any news on them opening it a few days earlier as a special to ap holders(i think they did this for jimmy neutron) i really hope so because we go home on june 13 and my 5 year old son will be crushed if he misses this because we wont be able to return to US for at least a year:(

Amen to that, KMC. We're patiently waiting to hear about a potential passholder preview before we schedule our next trip. We actually got out APs the night before the Neutron preview, and it just felt obscenely cool getting into the parks before everyone else (one of our favorite pictures from that trip is the completely empty first staging area of E.T. (where the intro video plays). It was like having the rides to ourselves.

I can't imagine there can possibly be major delays for an attraction like this, unless there's a whole lot more to it than they're presently letting on. I expect in theatre effects, but what the heck else can they throw at us unless they've rigged the seats to move (a la T2-3D)? Regardless, I can't wait. Every day on my lunch break I check my mailbox hoping for a postcard...then I remember the mailman comes about an hour after my normal lunch break. I think it says a lot that I'm willing to forget that fact every day.

So if anyone does get word on any preview info, please throw it on the boards first chance you get. The Universal DTs are starting to kick in pretty hardcore.

No word yet on anything yet. I'll post any info I get unless someone else beats me to it. :p
