I am hoping it will be open by June!;) Anyone have any info?

All I know is that when I went past the resort 2 weeks ago, there appeared to be much work to be done. I don't think that they've come a whole lot farther than the last time I passed it and there did not appear to be anyone working that day. It sure is a HUGE resort!!

I called Disney today for info and they said Pop Century would Definitely NOT be open before 2004. No Other ifon was given or why the delay.

That would be consistent with what I saw. I just read today that Disney is noticing a decline in resort bookings due to the possibility of war, so they're probably not in any hurry to get this resort open.

I found a site that has some good aerials of the Pop Century. One side of the resort is not even built. They have a couple of buildings up, but thats it. One side looks like it could be close to being used if the demand was high. Hope this helps!!!

The link is www.disneypix.com and you can click on extras on the menu bar and click on Aerial Disney. On the 2nd page it shows the resort.:)

Thank you Disney Fan...that's a great site. I loved the pics. I had no idea Pop Century was so far along. Looks like several buildings and pools could open right up. From the road it doesn't look as complete. I had no idea they had so much landscaping done. I wonder if they'll have boating in the lake.

That's a good question. If they do, I don't see how Disney will call it a "value" resort b/c All Stars don't offer the same amenities. They would have to revamp a bit if they did have boating. It would be big enough to though. :) Didn't you just love those pics? I think I looked at them at least a dozen times!!!:)

They sure DO have a lot more work to do! But as I recall, they were going to open the first part they finished first, guess they decided not to do that!

Well, I don't think it has to have the same amenities as the All Stars just because it is called a value resort. PO has a boat to DTD, but the other moderates do not. Also, AKL only has buses for their transportation but the other deluxes have boats, monorails, walking paths, in addition to buses.

This resort is on the west side of Caribbean Beach!:D Do they have watercraft? If so, maybe POP will too, and charge as much as Caribbean does.

Having just stayed at Trinidad South at CBR, while you can see several of the Pop Century buildings from the lake at Trinidad South, there is no connection - either by water or land between CBR and Pop Century.

It would be smart of Disney to have watercraft for rent at Pop Century. It would certainly encourage folks to stay at Pop Century for something new at a value resort.

But than it would NOT be a Value Resort. Oh, well, I made ressies when it was to open 2001 and the room was 79.00 plus tax and I was thrilled with that. Than, they Cancelled the ressie, so I took All Stars!;)

From the aerial photos it looks like quite a hike from the parking lot to the rooms. Is that what All Stars is like? One of the parking lots looks like it would need a tram it's so big.
