I am fitfully waiting to find out if the BCV will actually be in the $100 per point range. If they are, we'll have to do a major rethink of our strategy to add on there. Any word yet?

We checked in at 11:30 last night and I have not yet left the room this morning, but will begin asking questions soon.

Room is great- building 36- with a nice view of golf course and pond.

I fully expect any "information" about BCV at this point to be purely speculation and rumor, so I truly do NOT expect to find any reliable information, but I will see what I can dig up. I'll ask about dates of likely sales and projected costs, but please don't make any life altering decisions on any reports at this point! ;)

DOC, Thanks and have a great time !!! Wish I was down in the cool Florida climate, it is 94 degrees, hazy and humid in the great white North in CT !!

We were just at WDW this past weekend and I asked one of the DVC Reps at one of the kiosks at EPCOT a few questions. First, I asked if there was anything to the rumors that they may start pre-selling BCV (even as early as January 2002). She said that she had heard the rumors too, and did not suspect that they would be pre-selling, at least that early. She had even asked her supervisor, and he was not aware as well of any plans to pre-sell BCV. Second, I asked about the prices per point for BCV (what they might be). She did not have any idea what the price would be, and was not given any information regarding that. Take these answers as you may, but they are answers from a DVC Rep available to the public, as of last weekend.

Doc, Have a great trip!!

We just got back from Disney and just bought into DVC. We asked about BCV and Jack at the MK kiosk told me that they are legally (DVC employees) not allowed to acknowledge that the Beach Club villas are indeed a DVC property. Of course, its common knowledge, but if they are legally not supposed to even talk about it until the villas are signed over to DVC, then I would highly doubt they would start presale of them.

We were told by the Vacation Club bus driver that the rumor is $85 a point--just a rumor of course.

I was wondering if you would post your take on the status of the "bus on demand" program (like you did before).....if you have the chance, that is ;)

Thanks!

We have friends with us until Tues, so my computer time has been somewhat limited. I will make a detailed post tomorrow night about DVC prices and the bus system. Stay Tuned!

(Not much to report about prices- bus system is making good improvement....for the most part. More later.)

Keep us informed Doc! I always enjoy your posts from "Home"!

hi to all: i was at the members meeting at bwv last thursday. there weren't any firm prices for bcv or anything they would commit to. both guides weren't even sure of the date of this price increase. btw, i have some current pics (from this morning) of the bcv construction. i'll be happy to post them if someone can tell me how.

Easiest way to be able to post pix's is to set up a homepage on the DIS, then using any photo software, prepare the photos, making them a decent size so they won't be too big, etc, saving them as jpg files, download them to your new homepage, then from the homepage get the url address the photo was assigned.

Then just post your messages here on the DIS and put in a link to the photo.

Your homepage doesn't have to be a 'real' homepage, it can just be a place that stores your photos. Once you get it set up the first time, you can add photos with ease.

If you send me an e-mail with a sample photo, I can look at it and also give you exact directions on how to set everything up.

We were at VWL last week, I spoke to a Guide, (not mine, he's been promoted) She said prices of course would be higher but offered to put me on a Waitlist for pts at BCV (which I did)...don't know how much good that will do. She said they will have to "presell" whereas VWL is selling out faster than usual. Don't know how accurate that is, but it was a DVC guide

Remember it's not just the cost of the points. But, also how many points to stay.

If they dont make the number of points for a room high, everyone not a member with that property will be trying to use it too much.

By making the needed point high (say 25% higher than VWL) there will be more points to be sold and if current members want to use their points from other properties they can, but have to use many more.

I really doubt they will have higher points for a stay than VWL or preferred BWV. It would be too uneven between those and the new BCV or, on the lower end, OKW. As it is, we see lots of folks who own elsewhere doing trips to OKW to save points. This situation might get out of hand if they make the points too much higher.

dianeschlicht, care to make a small wager, just for fun. I say they will be some higher and will wager from 1 Disney dollar up to a dinner for two at a WDW restaurant excluding V & A. What do you say?

Too bad we can't put deposits down which would lock us into the going rate per point at the time of deposit, like locking in a mortgage rate.

Are you listening Disney!
