I'm fairly new to the boards; more of a lurker since this is my first attempt to make any type of posting. Even as a newbie it wasn't hard to see the reliability of the information shared by danny25.
I've noticed a drop off in his communication and wonder if the reason is due to a lack of info to share about upcoming discounts or, as some users have feared, a decision to leave the boards. It would be a great loss if it was the latter.
My family would like to visit late October and any insight into possible discounts and when they might go live would be greatly appreciated!

I too hope Danny is still here. He saved us a ton of money last year with his information. The best info for right now is that the general public discount will likely mimic the PIN that is currently in circulation. There are a bunch of fall PIN code posts floating around with dates and such.

I hope he comes back and posts new info, he has been so helpful about discounts to people here on the DIS. I completely understand why he would want to take a break. While most people are thankful and appreciative, there are a few who are downright rude! I hope he does come back. He has always been so helpful and informative!

Thanks for your help! I'm hoping to learn when those discounts will go live. I know that historically they have been announced by early August, but danny25 seemed to know exact dates.
It is picky, I know, to want not just info on discounts, but to want exact dates of their arrival. I cant stop my obsession with planning!

I couldn't agree more. This information make our trips possible. I won't pay full price and have to plan ahead with work/school/daycare. I enjoy planing ahead in addition to having to as part of life.

I hope they extend the dates....we really wanted to check in the following Saturday (28th) but the current offer ends on the 25th . If they move it further in to October I might just die from the wait LOL.

This and some that discounted his news, and claimed to know just as much. The last few pages of Danny's thread before he stopped posting, and a few comments made in a new thread pretty much tell the story. If Danny does extend his time away past the next offer, it will be interesting to see if anyone else can share the same helpful forecast well prior to announcement and with no agenda.

Danny came and went every time he/she announced a discount. Comes in, makes the announcement, answers some questions and poof he/she is gone. So whether or not Danny has abandoned the boards remains to be seen, until the next discount is concrete. He/she does not make any guesses or projections, from what I have seen.

With a bit of research, you can always find many leaks just as early. In fact, the free dining dates were dropped 3 days earlier in another thread and went totally unnoticed, while I don't remember the name, it was a lady from South America.

My sources are currently saying that October-December promos won't be announced until July at the earliest. These sources have been accurate about every promo, and some like the Aug-Sept room discounts that were never mentioned here.

If we can just get into July, things will become much more clear.

I'm actually not looking for any more promos for the remainder of 2013 as we just returned a week ago. I am now anxiously awaiting the 2014 package rates. I'm quite sure that I'll have sticker shock as I do every year and will start looking for May, 2014 deals. We've decided to lengthen our vacation to a full two weeks and I know that my pocketbook is going to scream in protest.

Do you have any info on when the 2014 rates may come out? I know that I booked our 2013 package on July 11, 2012 and I'm usually one to book on the release date or a few days after.
