Hi Pooh&Piglet-
Yes I have been to Gaelic Park-although who ever remembers having been to Gaelic Park--Just kidding! I Knew the family who used to own the bar there. I went to College Of Mt. St. Vincent and took Chemistry at Manhattan College in the Engineering building on Broadway right near Gaelic Park. You could smell Stella D'Oro Bakery in the morning--7:30 class.

DH is a FDNY fireman and we have been to some "funtions" at Gaelic Park through that, as well.

Do you live in Manhattan?

Sorry a little off the topic. I saw you went to College of Mt. St. Vincent. My 17year old daughter, as senior in hs, is considering this school as one of her college choices. What was your experience? Did they help prepare you for the working world. Sorry to use this forum; apologize to all for using this forum to ask this question.

200 points at Boardwalk and soon 125 points at Beach Club; Just came back from 7 day Western Caribbean cruise. LOVED IT!

I'm in Latham, just outside Albany. I think the best thing about living here is that I'm 10 minutes from Albany Airport, so that I can get those great SWA flights to my "home" OKW. I'm been a member since 1995 and have no trouble using my 500 OKW points (in fact, I'm usually in a "borrow mode").

Upstater born in Albany and raised in Renselaer county, now living in Niskayuna (Schenectady county).

Our home resort is VWL and our first stay on our own points will be Thanksgiving 2003.

Well...I didn't vote because I now live over the river in NJ. Born in Queens, raised in Staten Island (PS 4, IS 34 and Tottenville HS)and College at SUNY Geneseo (in Geneseo, NY near Rochester).

We have 222 points at BWV (have not yet been their). We spent end of April and Early May at home at HH and we're going home Columbus Day week to OKW.

Welcome Home! :)

Hey - good to see another Geneseo alum. DW and myself are class of '90 :).

I am Geneseo class of 91 and DW is class of 90 :) We both loved the school!

I went to Geneseo too. I grew up in Lindenhurst, LI.

OK, fellow NYers "of a certain age", anybody else remember seeing COP at the 1964 World's Fair??? I was ten and remember the World's Fair itself as being pretty amazing (the Belgian waffles, the Pieta, the glass-blown animals...), but COP was unbelievable. There was nothing like it at the time - I get chills everytime I see it at WDW, it certainly brings me back. My son, who saw it for the first time when he was five, thought it was "neat", but nothing amazing. My husband, though, he grew up in Michigan, appreciated how awesome it must have been in 1964!!! Did we have any idea back then how much the world would change???

So, anyone else willing to admit being old enough to have seen and remember it?

Hello all,

Loved the '64 Worlds Fair.

Born in Manhattan -W. Heights, lived in the Bronx for a number of years and now live in Yonkers. Graduated Fordham U.

270 points at OKW '93

320 at BWV's

Going Home again in December.

OK, mapny, I'll admit! I was at the NY World's Fair and also went to both Beatle conerts at Shea Stadium in the 1960's! I'll celebrate my 50th birthday this October. Also "Small World" was at the Fair. I still haven't been to the COP at WDW. It always seems to be closed when we're there. I know if I saw it, it would really bring back memories!
(250 VWL points and am trying to talk DH into 100 more at BCV!)

PatMcG-
Where are you in Yonkers?
DH once lived on Tolentine parish in the Bronx, then "Story Lane", west of Central Ave. in Yonkers, then later moved to Crestwood. MIL & FIL still live in Crestwood. BIL lives in Woodlawn.

It is nice to hear from some "city folks".

Kay-
I have sent you a private message e-mail re: CMSV.

I LOVED IT THERE.

I will admit it! I remember the World's Fair and the COP!! Taking my 80-something folks to WDW for the first time at Christmas and can't wait to take them to COP! I also remember seeing the Beatles (with my Dad!) at Forest Hills Tennis Stadium.
Grew up in Whitestone, Queens, graduated from SJU.
Owner at VWL and BCV.
