Any New Ride Photos?

A while back it was said that there may be ride photos coming to either Big Thunder, Pirates, or Haunted Mansion. Are any of these still in the works? Are there any other new ride photos available since last year?

They haven't added them. There are the new Haunted Mansion ghost photos, but they are done in the gift shop, not on-ride.

There was much talk about "interactive events" in many rides when MagicBands came into use.
That didn't happen (for the most part) either.

I know this is kind of a different topic, but, am I right in thinking that you don't have to touch or scan your Magic Bands at any of the ride photo screens anymore? That now you can just walk by and all the photos will still be uploaded to your DME account? Is that correct? We've never paid much attention to the ride photos because we never buy them...but we will have APs that include free photo downloads this year. So, I was wondering. Sorry to interrupt! Thanks!

I've heard that the rides are supposed to pick up the MBs without having to tap them, but it makes me wonder why they even have the places to tap them if you don't need them. SDMT has always picked up ours without a problem (nowhere to tap those), but with the rides where you can tap the band, I tap the band just to be safe.

By the way - we love the new photo downloads. They are a lot of fun.

We always tap on Test Track because when we don't, we end up with someone else's picture instead. It's the only attraction we've had a problem with.

I have seen people with tickets (who don't have MBs) tap the tickets so maybe that is why it is there. I guess only MB scan automatically.

That is exactly what a CM told me at Splash Mountain. Said we only needed to tap them if we did not have a MB. Still, the little Mickey Head icons beneath the photos just seem to call to my MB.
