If there is a bulk email or petition in the works, please let me know. I understand why WDW would want people to discontinue the use of the vouchers purchased from Connections, etc. What I don't understand is why they would not offer some sort of dining plan or food vouchers for all guests (like at AK), as opposed to those just purchasing a pkg. Maybe they are waiting to see the numbers the new dining plan is bringing in first. I understand Disney wanting to encourage people to purchase pkgs and stay on site, but I can't imagine that anyone would choose to buy the pkg in lieu of saving more money on the resort room. I know some people don't know about the different money saving resort options, so those people (purchasing pkgs anyway) might save using the dining plan. I definetly don't think I would save more money using the dining plan with a pkg than getting an AP (to be used for two trips) and buying my own meals. Maybe the people at Disney do not realize that I spent more on the voucher than I would if I were just ordering from one of their counter service places. They would make more $ on me by selling me the vouchers than letting me buy my meals separately. Before finding out about the meal vouchers, DH and I would either skip meals, eat offsite, or buy less expensive menu options, no drinks, and no deserts. Yes, we have used the vouchers at B&C and Pepper Market, but the majority of other times we used them at the AS Food Court and some of the lesser expensive counter service eateries in the parks. We ate offsite less often since we felt the vouchers allowed us the luxury of a drink & desert. Now, I will most certainly eat offsite more (since I'm now used to not skipping meals). We do not have any problem with Golden Corral, Steak N'Shake, or even Taco Bell. Sorry Disney, you just lost some of my dining dollars.
