Any Moms here with "Birthday Ride Parties" Experience?

We are hosting DS's 3rd Birthday party at a local "Indoor Theme Park". It's a really nice litte park with Rides for kids of all ages.

My Birthday Package includes rides and games for all the kids I am inviting and some of the rides the Parents will have to ride with them due to height restrictions.

No problem there because alot of my parents have expressed they want to ride the rides anyway.

My Problem is my Aunt-In-Law(Age 50) and Cousin In-Law (Age 24...she is AIL's daugther).

My AIL is the type of person who loves to have a lot of fun and she will jump right on the rides along with the kids. She and CIL are BOTH invited to DS's party.

However, when it is time for all the party guests to ride the rides, I don't want them to be standing there looking crazy.

So, am I expected to purchase a "Ride Card" (can add any value I want to it) for AIL and CIL so they can ride the rides too?

Note:**The rides range from $1.00-$3.00

OR, can they just eat the dinner and cake I am providing for them and if they WANT to ride anything, they do so at THEIR expense?

The other parents will be riding free with their kids who are including in the Birthday Package.

Please Advise.

I would just buy the kids the ride tickets. They can buy them themselfs. It is a party for your DS.. That means his friends will be there so I would take it that you are buying for the kids and not the adults. I think that I would have a age cut off of 18 or whatever for who you buy for...

I would buy them the cards. Small price to pay to keep everyone happy. Are you buying the parents whose children cannot ride the ride alone a card as well? We just went to a similar type party and the host provided ride bracelets for one parent of the kids who cannot ride alone (too young).

Do the parents ride free with their children?? At our local indoor park that sounds much like yours, everyone over one has to have a ticket or a ride band. Might want to check to avoid a surprise to your budget. Also remember that some children will show up with siblings so be prepared for that.
I too would just buy them a card and then loosen up and let then have fun. Bet the children will love having some fun adults to play with!!!!

Do adults ride free with any child, or just if they are under the height limit? At our local Jeepers an adult can ride free with a child, regardless of the child's height (e.g. I can ride with DS7 who is plenty tall enough to ride alone). If that's the case then I'd simply "lend" them my son. I'm sure there will be other parents there who will get tired of riding and be willing to have your AIL or CIL get on with their child. It may also be that a parent with a "short" kid will welcome having your AIL or CIL ride with their child so they can get a "break".

Otherwise I think you just need to be consistent among the adults -- e.g. you aren't buying any adult tickets, or you're only buying adult tickets for people who have kids too short, or you buy for everyone. The one exception would be if you're expecting them to "work" at the party and you buy them the tickets as a "thank you".
