Any microwaves on board?

Dealing with a super pick eater. Not all just pickiest, some sensory issues and gastro stuff that is now mostly under control. No allergies. But doesn't eat sandwiches, meat, chicken nuggets, hamburgers - the usual kid menu stuff, lol. Pizza, Mac cheese, plain salad W/ carrot, plain pasta, rice, yogurt, fruit, beans rice tacos. Any milk alternatives like almond milk on board, she does protein smoothies in the am/pm for weight gain/nutrition. Just trying to see what my options are. I don't want to be "that guest" who asks the servers too many modifications. I can pack some things with me if needed

I don't have the latest on microwaves but in the past DIS members said they have never seen them on board.

No microwaves for guest use. Pizza is available at the pool deck and sometimes in the MDR (you may be able to request if it's on the menu for another MDR). Plain pasta should be available -- as long as she isn't fussy about the shape (spaghetti, penne, etc.). Mac & cheese is also fairly common unless she stuck on a particular brand. Yogurt and fruit you may want to grab from Cabanas each morning at breakfast and keep some in your stateroom. If she needs a milk alternative be sure to list it on your reservation; otherwise they may not have enough of a particular brand and folks with allergies are left without anything. There is a "plain" option each night at the MDRs -- plain chicken/beef/fish without sauces, breading, etc. and I think rice is often a side.

If there are pre-packaged options you can bring for her, that is another option. I'd look for single-serving options because anything opened may not be allowed back off the ship at the end.

Just to be clear, these are the items that are the "yes" list correct? If so, I don't think there will be any issue. Mac and cheese is pretty much always available in the MDR. Plain salad is also always an option. It's just called the "house" salad and they can bring it any night. I think white rice and plain pastas are always available. Definitely fruit. Tacos are maybe the only thing that won't be quite as common in the MDR.

Honestly, be that guest. They won't bat an eye. My mom had a lot of dietary restrictions when we went and they were extremely accommodating and never made a thing about it. They generally brought her the menu the night before and had her make selections and then they already had her order in when we arrived at dinner and brought it out for her along with our meals. It wasn't a thing at all. They are used to it and have seen it all. We left a bigger tip than normal because our serving team was absolutely incredible with my mom's limitations so you may consider some additional gratuity for the situation, but honestly, they are fantastic with this kind of thing.

Thanks, yes that's the yes list. I thought maybe can get the taco poolside I think they listed Mexican as a quckservice there on the Wish? I was thinking I could get one and warm it up for her prior or after MDR if necessary, if there was a place to do that. We are doing consierge, so maybe if we can choose ahead of time, it would be ok. Def. extra tip.

Yes, there is a Mexican option on deck at the Wish. It was wonderful.

Is she going to need her smoothie blended? I am wondering if one of the bars or coffee cafes would be able to prepare it for her? … Or perhaps in the Concierge Lounge Bar?!

Doubtful that they will take stuff provided by a guest and blend it - especially if it contains not something that is not served by that location as it would affect their allergen list. The same reason they won't take a guest's brought-on food and heat it up.

Honestly if the girl needs all this special food and special drinks, you'll need to be prepared to carry it all (as in with you when you board - NOT checked) on pre-prepared and for her to be able to eat it as-is. (IOW stuff that doesn't need heating and smoothies that are pre-packaged and can be refrigerated in the cabin's cooler.)

Thanks! I don't think I need special blending, it's more of a protein powder type mixed with almond milk. They do have those shaker type bottles I can bring. Used to packing snacks, for her; it's not so much special food, as limited and very plain. She doesn't mind the same thing all the time. I think I worry about it more than she does. Food is not much a priority fir her. But we are going to be so active with the DW walking and swimming Castaway and Atlantis, I need to be mindful of her calories and weight, and have some healthy options besides popcorn and processed snack food like chips. We are saving consierge, so I'm hopeful I can find yogurt/fruit in the lounge.

They have almond milk available onboard. Our family drinks plant-based milk and we've gotten almond milk on every ship, including the Wish. You just have to ask for it at the station in Marceline where they have the fruits at the very back. They will give you as many glasses of it as you want.

I also use protein powder. I travel with single serve packets (everything you bring onboard must be sealed) and I have a little blender I bring with me and mix it with a little POG juice every morning.

Mostly I use this one because it's small: https://a.co/d/9jwkIro

But I also have this, but I only usually use it when we're somewhere with an actual kitchen and I'm going to make a legit smoothie with berries and things: https://a.co/d/10OKYYT

I thought mixing guests‘ food might be a problem. But if I throw out some ideas or info, usually someone else is able to verify or correct it. Also wasn’t sure if Concierge bartender might be able to do a little more for them.

I don't think so. It would be the same issues as at the regular bars. The one time I cruised concierge (it wasn't all that IMHO) I don't think they even had a blended drink option. Just shaken or things like Jack and Coke.

Microwaves are super cheap now. You can get one on Amazon for 69.00.

They last a long time as well. I have had my current microwave for like 16 years.

Your servers will be happy to try and accommodate your needs
But it’s hard if they don’t know ahead if time.
The first day you board there will be an area set up (usually in one of the restaurants or bars) were you can talk with the Head Servers and put in any requests. For example she wants plain pasta and strawberries every night💕🤣. If they know ahead of time they will try and make it happen.

Hopefully the ship provides their own. I don't think they are in cabins, but maybe in buffet dining locations or another location on board.
No, there is no microwave available for guest use. Whether or not the kitchen(s) have one is a moot point. CMs will not prepare or even warm food that a guest provides.
