Last night was the season finale of "Mercy." I like medical shows so I've enjoyed this one, but also watched just to see James Tupper. :lovestruc So now his character, Chris, is off to Afghanistan to run some civilian hospital? Didn't even say goodbye? And now there was a bombing in the airport he was in? I do hope he's not off the show, and will return next season. Loved him in "Men in Trees." And it looks like Mike might get hit when he stopped to help that woman out. :(

I am also a fan of the show and hopes it comes back - has it already been renewed?

Who do you think was calling her in the last scene?

I love the show, but missed parts because of thunderstorm warning interuptions. I'll have to go online and see if I can see what I missed. I missed what happened between Chloe and Dr. Trouble (can't remember his name ). I was so not happy!;)

I haven't watched it in a while. I wish I knew last nights was the season finale. I think filmed parts of that episode on my block.

I hope it's been renewed because I don't want to be left hanging!

I think the phone call was either to let her know Mike is dead (from being hit by the car) or that Chris is dead from the bombing at the airport. :(

Mercy and Trauma are my two very favorite shows! Last night's Mercy was good. Can't wait to see what they do with it in the fall season.

I'm a fan - I wasn't sure if I'd like it but the characters really grew on me...I like Chloe and Sonia and Veronica's baneter. And Angel is such a sweetie...

So I am watching on NBC.com, please tell me she decides not to take the apartment she was in at the beginning.

I really like Mercy.....I have watched every episode from the begining. I did hear a rumor that the ratings were not the best and it was at 'risk' of being on the chopping block.

OP, thanks for pointing out Chris was from Men in Trees....I used ot love that show too, and knew he looked familiar, you just put it all together for me!

Finished watching the episode, the building she moved into is around the corner from me. And the crime scene at the end is on my block, in front of the garage I park in. So at least I know the lighting equipment that was blocking a lot of the spots was temporary and will only be needed for the season premiere, if even. Hopefully the displacing of street parking was just for that scene and not her apartment or there will be a lot of unhappy people around here. lol.

Kind of fun seeing your neighborhood on TV, although I sure would not like to run into that guy with the gun when I am leaving the garage. :scared1:

I hated when they cancelled "Men in Trees." I thought it was an awesome show, and something different from the sit coms and cop/CSI shows. The only part I didn't like about the show was when Patrick got hurt, lost his memory, didn't remember his girlfriend and they ended up not getting married. :( I loved the scenery though, so pretty.

That is so neat the show is filmed in your area!!

I haven't seen the episode yet, so please forgive me for not reading the thread very closely. I may have missed a reply to your question.

No Mercy hasn't been renewed. Unfortunately, its prospects are pretty poor. Though the show has big fans among network execs, they don't get to impose their personal preferences on the network schedule. They have to go by what the viewers do, and ratings for Mercy have been dismal. Only two scripted NBC shows did worse than Mercy, and both of those shows have applicable equivocations, making Mercy's prospects even bleaker. The only show that has a lesser chance for renewal than Mercy is Trauma, which did a little better in the ratings, but that little bit better is not enough to overcome its higher cost and lesser prospects long-term.

What I'm hoping for is that Taylor Shilling lands somewhere else, either this fall or next winter. She's incredible for someone who is, effectively, a first timer.

:sad2::sad1:

I loved Mercy, but it's at such a horrible time slot and I don't have TIVO. 8pm on a Wednesday, really? I am still in the trenches of daily life at that hour. I can't really watch tv till 9pm or so.

I don't think the 8PM scheduling did Mercy in. As a matter of fact, that scheduling was kind-of a gift, because Mercy was not put up against powerhouse dramas like CSI, Grey's Anatomy, NCIS, Lost, or House -- and keep in mind that two of the series listed there are broadcast at 8PM.

Oh this bums me out to no end. I just adore the characters they're so screwed up you just want can't help but watch. My DD will not be happy about this! I knew better then to get attached, my favorites always get the ax...:sad1:

I think if the show were to go on (we can hope!) the phone call will be: A)Mike calling Ronnie for help because the other guy got hit. B)Chris saying he's okay or changed his mind. C)Someone calling to tell her one of them is hurt. This new, I don't see them killing anyone off at this point.

I'm so glad Sonia got back together with Officer Hottie at least!

The key is to have lots of favorites. :) I just found an email from my wife going over what we decided to record this season: Three Rivers (dead), Trauma (dead), NCIS: LA (alive), The Forgotten (dead), The Good Wife (alive), Parenthood (alive), FlashForward (probably dead), Vampire Diaries (alive). (Mercy wasn't even on our list, though we did watch it and did like it.)

Oh, I do, lol, I just really leans towards edgy/quirky. And Ack, not Flash Forward too...waaaah! It's not usually my type of thing but I got hooked. My biggest question is where did that kangaroo come from, there's got to be significance there.:lmao:

I'll join in & say I liked MERCY too, as well as MEN IN TREES. Sad MEN was cancelled though.

No wonder MERCY didn't do well; seems to me the stupid network kept moving it around and/or prempting it for somethingoranother. Geeze! I thought it was hard to keep track of what day it was on & what time. I gave up finally but did see the finale. Was it listed as "series finale" or "season finale"? If "season" maybe we'll get lucky & it will return, if not for a full season maybe a replacement later in 2010/2011?
