Any members had trouble making 90+10 ADRs?

I just called to make my dining reservations and they were unable to verify my on-site stay due to the DVC confirmation # not being the same as the resort reservation #. I will have to call MS tomorrow to see if they can "talk" to the dining system and get me my 90+10 Cindy's reservation!

Call back and get another person. All they need to do is add your reservation # to the dinner reservations. I doubt they will ever be able to confirm DVC reservations.

Hi,
I called at 90 days (my priority was the illuminations cruise, called the special cruise #) after I booked the cruise I was told I could make my dinning reservations (without having to call back the other #) for that day also. When we were finished I then asked about the 90+10 and was told I needed a reservation number. I informed her I was DVC and gave her our extra long #, she said you are all set and I booked the rest of our meals for the stay. It was great!! No getting up every morning for a week, anxious as to whether we would get the meals and times we wanted. Try again if you have the reservation number on your confirmation it will work.
Good luck!

THANK YOU!!! I love these boards! I just called back and got right through and snagged my Cindy's ressie for our last morning there! WOOOHOOO -- what a great way to end the vacation!

Gosh I feel as if I missed something, what is a 90 + 10 ressie? Thanks

Congrats, glad it worked out.

Got to make our ADR's this week, so it's good to hear that it worked out (especially for CRT!! We're not interested this time, but I am so happy for anybody who wants it and is able to get it).

I agree that if the CM you are speaking to can't use your DVC confirmation number, call back and get another CM. I called at 90+10 and the CM asked where I was staying and for the conf. #. I told her I was DVC and and gave her my DVC conf. number and it worked no problem. I even called back a number of times during my 90+10 window and every time the CM asked for my number and I gave them my DVC number no problem. :)

The reason I called so many times is because (if anyone followed my thread on the restaurant board) I tried to get Le Celliar for like 5 different nights during our stay and it was all booked-I mean all days/all times, before 90 days! The Cm's I spoke to all blamed it on the popularity of the dining program. One CM told me that some people are waiting to make their ADR's until 60 days when the park hours come out, and are calling at 60 days out and not geting ANY of the popular restaurants. Two different CM's advised me to be certain of my times because changing them, even at 60 days will be impossible. I'm going in early Dec, so it's not the "free" dining, just the dining program. I think this is really going to change the way a lot of people plan. I'm reading so many posts now like "going end of Oct and can't get any ADR's I want, on any days, at any time during my trip."

So, DVC members, don't worry about calling at your 90+10 mark! Your DVC confirmation number WILL work! :)

I think you're running into the CP dinner program @ LeCellier. It was tough to book the day they started taking res. Within a few days, the most popular res were spoken for...tables for 2 are also tough to snag.

Other than being unable to book the 1st half hour of Character breakfasts in the parks @ 90+10 days out, we had no problem booking what we wanted.

I was pleasantly surprised to find we could book an ADR the Sunday we return from our cruise, even though we're flying home that evening. :flower:

With the dining plan, free & otherwise, the restaurants are starting to fill up - looks like it's a success.

You know what's funny is that the first guy I talked to actually told me that I should suggest to MS that the dining ressie people be allowed access to the MS database to verify our reservations. He told me I should suggest it because they get that alot and their hands are tied and MS/DVC won't listen to them.... I'm thinking HE's the one without a clue....

Yes, I know the CP packages made it harder. The Cm's all asked me if I wanted to try and see if any spots were open for the package (I just wanted a reservation for 5). I had them try and one night I would have been able to get a dinner package at 8:45, which I didn't take because of my kids ages. The next day when I called, even that was gone.

We had luck with everything else, of course this was at 90+10 days. ;) I wonder if Disney even realized how popular this dining plan would be.

I found out that there just aren't very many tables for 2 at Le Cellier or CRT. On top of that, only a small percentage of the tables are made available for the 90 +10 thing. The rest are released at the 90 day mark and in some cases, additional tables are released as it gets closer to the date (not really sure how this last works, though).

Anyway, I got what I wanted at the 90 day mark - couldn't get it for the +10 period.

best wishes -

From a non-MYW dining package guest, the plan is too popular

If WDW ever gets around to closing the infamous loophole (wherein parents are using children's dining options for adult meals & then paying cash for the kiddies meals - either they're eating a heck of a lot or using meals for other adults in a large party!); the demand for the plan, should decrease.

MYW dining in some circles is deemed a license to print money & better yet, many don't see anything wrong with this abuse. :confused3

Carol, why couldn't you get the +10 period? Are you talking just about Le Cellier, or all on site restaurants?

I couldn't get a table for 2 when I first called. There weren't any available/left for the day I wanted which was 93 days from my arrival. When I called back at the 90 day mark for that day, I did. CM said they don't release all the tables for the 90 + 10 people. Actually, I was talking about dinner for CRT, but I know from the CP packages that Le Cellier only has a few tables for 2 also.

FWIW, some have suggested that you make the ADR for 3 and then just show up with 2. I have mixed feelings about doing that, but probably would have done it if I hadn't gotten what I wanted at the 90 day mark. Apparently, there were plenty of larger tables available at the 90 day mark.

Best wishes -

From what I understand Le Celliar doesn't hold any tables for the exact 90 mark. The CM I spoke to said that only CRT was doing this for all meals. I could not get Le Celliar for 5 people at 90+10 for any of the five nights I tried, at any time. I called every day for about 7 days and then just gave up. I don't know if 5 is a hard number at Le Celliar, I was told that most of the tables are for four people. I know the CP packages went on sale early but I was still surprised that I could not get a reservation at 90 days and even BEFORE 90 days.

I agree with the dining plan being too popular. It makes it hard to get ADR's unless you call at 90 days. I does seem like lots of people are using the child credits for adult meals, and then paying cash for the kids meals. Not only that, people are actually taking friends/visiting family members to dinner and using their childrens credits to pay for them! IF the kids are even there, they pay cash for their meals. :confused3 I know people (on other threads) argue that if Disney lets the credits be "pooled" then they can use them however they like. It just seems crazy that someone can pay $10 a day for a kid to get 1 CS, 1 TS and 1 snack and then have an adult use the TS credit to eat Appetizer, entree, and desert at Le Celliar for $10! (not to mention the CS meal and snack)! People have said they are taking their parents out to dinner like four or five nights with their children's credits! Did Disney really intend for people to do this?

:ssst: I made pretty much the same statement on the Restaurant Board and was attacked left & right. Very few folks seem to realize that WDW could not have possibly intended this interpretation of the plan. In all seriousness, I don't know how people can defend this position. I figure whoever wrote the brochure is now looking for work elsewhere. We used the plan in Feb & thought it was a great value & convenience. :confused3

Since the plan says kids meals, I agree it's something they should enforce. It's not really a loophole as much as just not enforcing the rules in place, something that Disney is famous for. But ultimately it's something that Disney must decide. Given the current set up, assuming and assuming DDE, there are really only a few ways to get your money's worth for the program assuming one is honest. These include only getting the more expensive meals, avoiding the restaurants that take two coupons, eating yourself silly and the like. I don't believe it includes the tip or tax from what I've heard. Another way to get a good value is to have more people than you pay for. The legal way to do this is with more than one room, the other is to lie about the number of people in the unit. The plan also goes up about $3 per person in Jan I believe.

:guilty: ...eating yourself silly, yep we did. At one point my DS asked if he could please not order an appetizer.

Tax & gratuities (I believe 18%) are automatically included. It's been reported that the CM/Servers are encouraging the maximum usage of the plan to inflate the total/tip.

I've even read tales of phantom children being added to the res. in order to weezle an additional adult meal option for each day. Nothing more than criminal intent, diabolical I say...and the folks on the free dining plan are complaining they can't eat @ CRT each day, imagine that!

I have a new question about this. Should we be calling the 407 WDINE number to do our 90+10 ressies, or can we call the toll free numbers?
