Any luck with National ID's and Coupons codes

June 13 pick up11:00 am -21 and drop off at 5:00 pm and I got Budget... out of Tpa... right now they have economy and compact for 9.95 and mid size for 11.95

Keep watching MCO they do go down ... right now it is 12.95

Now I am wondering if I can find a coupon for an upgrade would they accept it or not... because I did book it on Hotwire:confused3

We've now decided to reserve an 8 passenger van instead of the 7 passenger one at Nat'l. Are these in 2 seperate aisles, since we are paying to upgrade I don't want to end up with the smaller 7 passenger van.

TIA!!:goodvibes :flower3: :goodvibes

They are separate aisles.

Hi!

Thanks to the forum for all the tips, advices,... I'm traveling Alaska, Anchorage, and Seattle this June / July.

Using the National 57 and the ecoupon of 30$ off weekly rentals, NF1982JDD, I got an amazing rate for Alaska, around $400, June 7th to June 21th. It's almost half of the cheapest I've found so far, with Avis. Also for the Seattle part of the trip (the 21st we have a cruise from Alaska to Seattle), it was really cheap, $281 for two weeks.

My concern now it's about the ID. I've signed for the Emerald. The problem is that neither Anchorage airport nor the Seattle Downtown (Hilton Hotel) have an Emerald Aisle.

Do you know if they will ask me for any identification? any experiences in these locations using that ID code? I will make a backup reservation, just in case; but my question is if I arrive to the counter and then they ask me for the ID, as obviously I don't have nothing, the reservation will be canceled and that's all? or they will charge me $50 fee for not taking the car?

I'm a bit anxious about the whole ID thing. Is there a "good excuse", like a friend of mine did the reservation,...? Please, any advise is more than welcome!

Thanks,

Eduardo

I booked my SIL with the 67 code this week at the Seattle airport and she didn't have any problems with it. They were amazed at the price she got :) but nobody gave her any trouble with it.

I picked up a Volvo from the Executive Aisle at MCO yesterday. I used 8572967 and NF1982JDD and had no problems. My total for 5 days is 117.59 and the car is beautiful...

What is the difference between Emerald Isle and Executive Aisle? We have the Emerald Aisle membership???? Thanks!

Executive Aisle is the next tier up. There are actually 3 tiers of the Emerald Club. Emerald Aisle is the lowest/basic. Executive is the second that guarantees at least a full size car at the price of an intermediate, you find more premium cars there. You have to rent at the Emerald Aisle level at least 40 rental days a year to qualify for that level. The highest is Elite Aisle, which is more of the luxury car aisle. You have to rent minimum 80 days a year to qualify for that level. Each level has to be renewed each year, by continuing to meet the required rental levels. We are Executive and we rent 40+ days a year to maintain our status. You also earn reward rental day faster at each level. If you log onto the emerald club section of the national rental car site it will explain better than I can.

I have a question - we are emerald club members - if we pick a vehicle up at West Palm Beach airport, which has shuttle service to where the vehicles are, do we still bypass the counter and just get on the shuttle and tell them which type of vehicle we reserved? I ask because I'm used to MCO where the cars are right across the street and you don't have to get on the shuttle, I would hate to waste all that time and aggrevation if we bypassed the counter and got on the shuttle only to learn we had to go back. Thanks!

But I canceled the 67 code because I was afraid .... knowing my luck they would ask me for ID or something else...

So I went on to Hotwire and I got a car for 9.95 a day and it is at the airport counter... so I am paying 2.00 more but its ok...133.00 vs 131.00

I just want my vacation to be great and no problems...:cool1:

how did you get that so cheap? when i plug in my dates it gives me about $32.00/day

I will have to check again closer to our dates (Sept.)
Right now it's $31.95/day for a compact = $204.75 for our stay. I have a better rate with Alamo using a Costco coupon. I don't mind the kiosk and we still get to choose our car.

I will try HW about 1 week prior. Sept is slow season and hopefully they won't mind lowering prices.

It will get lower...

Just check everyday...

The closer the better though..

Sometimes they do come out when you least expect it...

silly question but where can I get a copy of these weekly coupons such as NF1962JJD or NF1982JDD. Thanks and this thread has been very helpful

Has the National website stopped accepting the 57, 67 and 87 codes? I just tried for Pittsburgh this fall and was rejected. It worked yesterday when I was just looking but did not book. Darn!

Just tried it for a Nov 29 - Dec 6 trip and it worked. I'm not using it though as I'm too chicken. Good luck to all of those who do! :)

Okay, so I went back and tried 67 again and it worked! Does anyone have a less than one week coupon for this fall?

You know I felt uncomfortable too, but we just returned home and the 67 code and $30. coupon worked like a charm - checked my final amount on the print-out as we left the rental car, and it was exactly as I had booked. We used the EA at the Orlando Airport, bypassed the counter.
Thanks to everyone who helped me out - I hope you are all as successful.

Just used the 67 and the ND2119071Q codes and it worked for a beautiful $163.00 Mini Van Dec 1-8:dance3:

I am not sure how, but I am now completely confused.
I used the 67 along w/the $35 coupon code and got $157 for 10 days at wdw. It subtracted the $35 coupon just fine and adjusted the rate accordingly.

On my emerald club membership i specified compact as I usually travel with the girls alone but thought I'd see what came up using a midsize to be able to pick from the aisle.
When I do that it accepts the 35 coupon and denotes it in the tally breakdown as "coupon accepted (35.00)"
but on the very next line it then says "coupon accepted $35.00" which cancels out the discount above.
The difference between the midsize and the compact was only $20 on the screen but equals $55 when I am finished for some odd reason.

To check it I entered SIL's dates and chose a minivan. Her rate came back as the "coupon accepted (35.00)" but under it was "coupon accepted $20.76" so it isn't taking all of that one back but most of it.
If it's accepting the coupon and subtracting on line above why is it billing the same $35 back again on the next line?
Is it something to do with my EC preference settings perhaps?
Anybody have an idea of what am I doing wrong? TIA
