Any luck with National ID's and Coupons codes

I'll take a guess at #2. When I log in as Emerald Club, the contract ID code defaults to one that was linked to the company I signed up through. Maybe that is happening to you and that ID is quoting a bad rate. Try logging in to EC and then remove the contract ID or change it to the one you want to use.

Thanks....I tried that but it didnt work - still came out as $1200!!!! So what I did do is sign into my Emerald Club and then click on modify to bring up the reservation. That worked....I was able to see my reservation as $404 under the same page that has me logged in.....but now I am not sure whether it is actually booked under Emerald Club or not?

Anyone have any luck calling and adding their Emerald Club number to an existing reservation?

Since it is a minivan I am not sure whether I can go directly to the lot or not....its been awhile since I used National. Is there a separate line for Emerald Club members?

If you are Emerald Reserve you can go directly to the mini van aisle and take any of the mini vans that they have. I just came back from Florida and that is what I did. I signed up for an Uplander by Chevy and picked a 2008 Grand Caravan Sto -n- Go what a great car it was. I loved the powered double slider doors. Tho it did have a very strange start up key. I need to buy one for myself real soon.

Thanks but how do I know if I am Emerald Reserve?:confused3 Does that just mean that I am an Emerald Club member?

Sorry.....

Oops, I forgot to specify that the code ending in 57 was a from a travel agency, maybe meaning an employee discount, and therefore people were nervous about using it. The one ending in 67 is the "complimentary" code and I believe the person who posted that said it was a more public code.

Both 57 and 67 are travel agent codes for Travel Solutions. Some people have been told that 67 is complimentary under Travel Solutions. Other's have been told that proper ID is required at time of rental for both codes. So far, it seems like no one has been asked for ID at time of rental. They could request it at the counter or the gate if an Emerald Club member.

Just got back from Disney used 67, out the gate I went no questions asked. On my return home, in the gate I went got slip from National Car Person and on the plane I went, no questions asked.

Emerald Reserve Service, is exclusively for Emerald Club® members. Whether you reserve a convertible, SUV, minivan or any other vehicle, you'll be amazed at the speed and convenience of this service. With Emerald Reserve, you'll be able to reserve any car type, excluding midsize (or fullsize if Executive level member). When you arrive at the location, you'll bypass the counter, go directly to the row of the car class reserved and choose any car. It's that easy! Emerald Reserve Service is available at all Executive Selection & Emerald Aisle locations. On your ressie it will tell you your Level Of Service, There are 3 LOS, Aisle, Reserve and Executive. Look for your level underneath your Emerald Club #... I hope this helps.

From what I've found on these codes - the first is a "Complimentary code" and the second is an e-coupon for National that expires in Dec 2008. So no coupons necessary to have in hand. When you book using the coupon the reservation confirmation will list it as Blogcoupon-zl-wkly#1
why is it that wherever I have seen this coupon it says that it expires 06/30/08.....
But National does let me put it in for my July reservation and it doesn't tell me that its an expired coupon

Thanks ..... the "complimentary code" reservation that I have does state Emerald reserve.....so this means that I can go directly to picking out a car correct?! And my husband is automatically covered as the second driver or I need to go to the counter because of him?

We're Emerald Club members but I booked a compact with a two car class upgrade coupon. It says level of service "counter". Does this mean I'm more likely to have problems with the 67 code??

Vellamint your set to go directly to the aisle where the vans are located and pick out the one you want and you will be On The Road Again. Husband is also set to go. No counter service needed. Have a great trip.

Thanks so much for the update! :thumbsup2 Hope you had a great trip!

Oh boy thank you so much!! I thought I would HAVE to go to the counter and "register" my husband as a second driver regardless of what level Emerald I am. This is also good because if I can go directly to the aisle then no one will question me on the code....correct!!?

Loving these boards.........this thread not only saved me ANOTHER $40 bucks on a 2 week rental but now I dont have to pay for a second driver!!!

Thanks everyone!

I'm not sure why that is but maybe we are using two different coupons? I got this coupon off of the carrental site and this coupon has an exp of Dec.
I have sen two others , the one you mentioned and from the very first post in this thread had a coupon that was supposed to have expired Dec 2007 but the poster said it was extended. If you use his coupon it does go through.

From what I'm reading from those that have completed their car rentals at WDW, there was no problem using 67 or any coupon -no one asked for verification or an actual coupon.

I will have a chance to use the 67 code tomorrow night and will let you know on Thursday how it went. Seems like many have had great success. I'm feeling comfortable going right to the EA.

:goodvibes Well all I can say is that they didn't question me on the code. I don't know if others were questioned. A lot of people have used the 67 and 57 codes. And the National Site is still allowing it to be use when a ressie is made, so I think things should be okay.:confused3 (but one never knows)

Not 100% certain but I believe when you have an upgrade coupon (vs. a $$ off coupon) you have to go to the counter.
I would guess you're twice as likely to have a problem with the code since you have to see someone at the desk and again at the exit. ??? :confused3 Seems like no one is having a problem with it though. I hope it's still working well in Sept. when we go! :goodvibes
good luck!

Thank you for posting the 57/67 codes. I've just shaved $100.00 off next month's rental vs Alamo. Just to be safe, I am not canceling the other just yet. Thanks again:thumbsup2

Not having to go to the counter is just one less interaction where you may be questioned about a code. The agent at the gate may also question you. I have had gate agents request my AAA card on occasion and always for my coupons if I forgot to attach it to the reservation in the past. (Keep in mind I use various agencies across the country for business travel with 50% in MCO. ) But your odds of being questioned have definitely decreased by being able to avoid the counter. I only saw one post recently about a renter being given a hard time with the Visa code. Everyone who has been using the Travel Solutions codes of 57 and 67 have not had any issues so far. Hopefully, they don't catch on to it in the near future and everyone continues to have success! Good Luck!:)

Anyone know what year the Impalas or similar full size cars are? Are they newer? Because the newer ones are smaller than the ones a few years ago I believe Just want to make sure of the fit. 2A and 3 kids - but 2 of the kids are already 5'4" and 100lbs each -- so small adults. And 1 piece of luggage each....

Has anyone had any problems with the 87 code? I have two trips booked with this code coming up (Denver and MCO), but when I try it now it is like 5 times the price!! Just wondering if I should switch over to the 57/67 code or just keep my current ressie with the 87 code.
