Any luck with National ID's and Coupons codes

Yes-thanks for the heads up! My price had been $218 forever with National and it got so I wasn't even bothering to check all the codes anymore since the numbers never changed-until today. I also have the $144 for 8 days end of April. I was all set to change over to Alamo who was giving me a full size for $140 for the 8 days. Now I have to decide whether to go with the guaranteed full size or take a gamble on the Emerald Aisle. I'm fine with midsize but my husband thinks the G-6 is a little too small. Well, I still have 3 1/2 weeks to decide. I'll see what happens.

My National rental rate FINALLY dropped for my late April/early May trip. ... I used code 5007125 and the $35 coupon code ND2119071Q to get this rate. ... tried using the newest amazing code (8572987) ... check some of our old reliable codes... If you are going in May the rates still seem to be higher...

I tried 5007125 & ND2119071Q for 5/1 p-up; 5/6 return and it stated my rental didn't qualify. (Guess b'c it's not a full week.) Then used 5007125 and the current promo code for $30 off which was accepted. Got a 7 pax Chevy Uplander mini-van for $261.55 all in pick up at Disney's Car Care Ctr & drop off at the apt.

I'm still holding a $201 ressie at Dollar in DTW for the same times; however, I'm a little queasy about using them as it sounds like their tactics are a little underhanded and I will need to pay extra for a 2nd driver whereas as an Emerald club member, DH will drive w/o an additional charge on my tix. Will need to make a final decision before I leave, for sure.

It does seem to be for an April pickup right now. My daughter picks up on May 3rd and my friend on May 2nd, so I've been watching for them too. Only my rate changed (April 27th pickup). Maybe this time next week the May rates will start to drop. I'll be watching carefully for May too.

Oh I check constantly, as I know the rates almost always get lower. That rate I got up there is still very high compared to what I usually get, but that last code made a huge difference!

SO it's not really the same comparison, but if you don't care about having those extra's included then I would use the 5007125 contract ID. I don't think the prices have gone down it's just the contract ID offers less covered items then if you used the other contract ID..

Actually the price did go down. I crunched all of my numbers last week and code 8572987 was giving me the best price ($385). Last week code 5007125 was giving me a total of $450 for 13 days. Now it offers me the price of $252 for the same 13 days. My base was $207 last week and now my base is $137. No the insurance is not necessary for us. We have full coverage on all of our vechicles and rentals are covered (we checked with our insurance man).

Just wanted to mention that my April rate has dropped 3 times since Tuesday. It dropped last night another $8, then this morning another $5. I love the direction it's going. I know it doesn't sound like much, but going down is better than the price going up!

Yes, you are correct! Plus I used an e-code on the National website.
People were concerned about the code, but it worked great especially during that time rentals were going for over $80+ a day!!

After reading your posts here, I went back to my Nat'l ressie and used the Carlson code and a coupon from VISA NF3054JDC, and had a further reduction for our 3 day rental in May. Please refresh my memory on the Carlson code - is it still accepted or only used by agents?

This may seem like a stupid question to the more seasoned vets, but I have a quick question re: using the 8572987 contract id and the visa code nd2119071. I signed up for the Emerald Isle through MouseSavers for this trip. If I use the above contract id and not the Emerald Isle contract id, can I still just choose my car at the Isle and skip the counter? Also, paying with MasterCard automatically because of the Isle, so will they ask to see Visa coupon and force me to wait in line?
