Any luck with National ID's and Coupons codes

This may seem like a stupid question to the more seasoned vets, but I have a quick question re: using the 8572987 contract id and the visa code nd2119071. I signed up for the Emerald Isle through MouseSavers for this trip. If I use the above contract id and not the Emerald Isle contract id, can I still just choose my car at the Isle and skip the counter? Also, paying with MasterCard automatically because of the Isle, so will they ask to see Visa coupon and force me to wait in line?

Thanks in advance.
As long as you are an Emerald Isle member, you can use any code/contract id. My DH changed jobs and his original contract code was different than the one I used on this trip. We had no problems at all. The only thing I will say is it was easier to have printed out my reservation because at the top of the printed reservation, there is a bar code that a customer service rep showed us. All we did was scan the bar code and off we went. After we picked our car, we drove to the cashier, and again, handed her the printed reservation and off we went. It was so easy. We were not asked to show anything! National was great!    :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks Susie! You made me feel so much better. I printed out my new reservation, so I will have my bar code.

We are headed to disney in August....just booked our flight and now onto Car Rentals. There are 6 of us, and the prices I am getting for a van are HUGE. Is there any cars that you know of that can carry 3 adults and 3 children (I was thinking of the front bench seat, not bucket seats). Any help would be appreciated. We were thinking of booking through National or Alamo since we could drop it off right there in Disney.
Thanks

Our Impala had a buckle in the front row for a third person last week but I really don't remember any other time it did that. The car was a little older than we were used to from National.

Problem would be you wouldn't be quaranteed an Impala. We love the Impala and out of 8-10 cars to choose from there was only one. There were plenty of Grand Prix or a Honda model whose name escapes me.

Just checked my National : used 5007125 , nd2119071Q

For the period of 4/16-4/27 , $220.88 Down 40.00.

who knows what post the list of codes is in? I think we should try to post that periodically if we can't get the OP to update the first thread.

HI everyone, we just got back from Disney and used the Visa Code 8572987 and it worked great. No problems at all. I have been playing around with some more codes and coupons for April and June. If anyone is going in April to Orlando they may want to try the hot deal with Alamo. I found that the hot deal code was an awesome deal. Since I have not read all the responses here recently on this thread I was just wondering if I could help anyone with possbily anything else.

I only backtracked about 4 pages but here's a compilation of National's codes I found on the past few pages (contract id listed first; coupon code listed second):

Notes:

National is unique among rental car companies in allowing you to "stack" multiple discounts when you book online. A coupon code can SOMETIMES be combined with a Contract ID!

Another one who just successfully used the National VISA code and $35 coupon (no paper coupon needed.) This was done at the Peoria, IL  airport for a minivan rental for a week. Saved me over $100! Thanks for sharing it!

are there any National $$ codes that don't require a Saturday night stay?

Hopefully someone can solve this mystery regarding the discounted rates I get.

My dates are Wednesday, 5/14 (picking up at 11:30 PM) through Sunday, 5/18 (dropping off at 7:00 PM) and I'm checking rates for a midsize to use the Emerald Aisle.

When I plug in the Visa Code 8572987 and the BJ's Free Weekend Day coupon NF3488JDN, the undiscounted price...the price that shows up underneath the car images when you're choosing your size...says $184.00. Then when I go to the confirmation screen this is what it says:
(4) Time & Distance ($44.35/Day) $177.40

Why, if it says the rate is $44.35/day, does it take $19.14 off with a coupon for one free weekend day? I can't figure it out.

When I use the Carlson code it comes out to be much less in total, but I'd like to use the Visa code for the included insurance. Since I'm only renting for 4 days the only other coupon I can find to use is the $15 off any 3 day weekend rental, so at least this BJ's coupon gives me an extra $4 off. I'm just confused why the coupon wouldn't deduct $44.35 from the total.

imho, car rental coupons use mystery "formulas" to determine the discount :confused3 .
i've used $20 thru $30 coupons that take off anywhere from $18 and change, up to the actual coupon amount. free day coupons take off some arbitrary amount that looks totally unrelated to my ressie. even upgrade coupons get screwy sometimes (the "upgrade" will be there, but the pre-tax & fee amount is a bit higher or lower than without the coupon).

personally, i just plug in every code & coupon combo until i get a "final" price we can live with :) .

Not exactly sure. When I tried one with my ressie I had a base rate, a discount and a coupon. It calculated the free day coupon off of the rate after discount. One other thing worth trying is to change your pick-up to 11:00 or 12:00. The rates for pick-ups on the 30 are often quite a bit higher (yet another mystery).

Yeah, I've tried the changing from half hour to hour times, no difference. Actually, there's no difference in price between picking up on Wednesday night or Thursday morning at 9 AM! We originally were coming in on the morning flight and ended up changing it to arrive the night before. I thought it would add an extra day to my total but it didn't change at all. I guess sometimes the "mystery formulas" can work to your advantage!

National rates finally down for early May.
I used nd2119071q coupon.

This code took off 35.00 and then added back or something $ 2.30....
Anyone know what that's all about?

Anyone know what 8572957 is? Another DIS'r entered it by accident and it gave an extremely low rate!

I tried it and same for me...so I called National and the guy said it was for "Travel Solutions" and I could use it.

I googled the code and found nothing. Anyone?:confused3

I don't know what it is, either, but also applied it to my reservations and saved another $100 off one reservation and about $80 off another. :thumbsup2

Here's something weird to note, though:
I rented a minivan at Peoria airport for one week a couple weeks ago using the VISA code back yonder from OP. Saved a bunch of money, everything went smoothly, returned the van without incident...All good.
Then yesterday I received a phone call from an insurance company wanting to know about the $1400 claim on the van. I assured the caller I knew nothing of any damage to the van--it was in the same condition when I returned it as when I rented it. She then asked if I had a corporate rental--I said, no, it was through my VISA card. She said she never heard of any such thing and would get back to me...:confused3
Makes me a little nervous. DH thinks the car rental agency is taking advantage of the insurance coverage that came free with the code...
I don't know--she said she'd check back with National and get back to me.
