Can I laugh hysterically now, or do I have to wait until the kids can't see me???!!!??? I'm a h.s. lib. with my master's+24 credits. The majority of school districts consider us the same as any other teacher, as far as pay goes. In the small town I work in, tops is in the mid 50's, in the large city where my folks teach, it's in the mid 60s (this would be 20+ yrs experience, masters+). It's a great job, I love it, but I'm sure not making 80K a year! Usually the only school professionals that have their own salary scale are school psychologists, and they are paid higher. If I had taken my master's degree and called myself an "information specialist" for a big business, then *maybe* I'd be making something close to what you heard...
