If you are going to do the pressed penny machines don't forget to bring lots of change - you'll need it - also for the laundry machines.

Bring lots of film - it is expensive there, but DON'T let it go through the x-ray machines - make them hand check your purse and put it in there!

I always bring extra socks - rain, sweat, you get the picture.

Have a great time - October is a terrific month to go!:D

Don't forget some comfy walking shoes.::yes:: :wave2:

Is this too gross???? Extra panties! Who wants to wear the same pair at bedtime after you've been hot and sweaty in a park all day? I always pack two for each day. We have three dd's and one dd friend traveling with us, can you count how many we'll be taking? Sheesh!

(I know, I'm knew to the boards. Too much info too soon? :) Sorry)

Along with the panties, make sure you put towels in the car. Either for drying or just sitting on. Also, throw some hand sanitizer in your purse. My best tip: plan the money for drinks/snacks. It's YOUR vacation too, you don't want to spend it carrying around a buffet. Have a great time!

Just back, here are some helpful tips.
Bring clothespins! We used them for lots of stuff. Had one day of a brief shower & I clothespinned the poncho over the stroller. Clipped to snack back to keep them closed. Clipped bathing suits to the line in the bathroom.
Bubbles!! So useful when waiting around. Did not have long waits for anything, but used them to make the 10 minute waits go by faster. Always gave dd a second wind!
Sit down meals. Chef Mickey's was the best ever! Loved it. It is so necessary to sit to relax. Next time I will stay for 10 days vs 5 & take things much slower especially with the heat!!
Pins, pins, pins! Pin trading was dd's favorite thing & I saw many a sad kid who wanted a pin after they saw dd trading with someone!
Keep camera close at hand. Dd was picked to walk Cinderella from the outside of Toontown back to the place where the meet & greet takes place & I was so excited that I forgot the camera & the autograph book so we had to go back later & wait in a huge line!! Dh got it all on video though!
Glow sticks. We got so many comments from people wondering where we bought them (we brought them from home). Dd even wore hers during the day in case she was scared during a dark ride.
Ear muffs. Dd does not like loud noises. She wore them thru Wishes!!
Try to speed out of the stores. Some rides exit you right at a store & dd was always begging for something from the stores! Just shuttle kids out as fast as you can!
If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.

These are some things you don't have to pack OR carry around:

Don't forget to have fun.

By that I mean don't get so mirred down in your itinerary that you lose site of why you are there in the first place.

Be flexible. If something comes along, don't be afraid to change plans midstream.
In MGM one hot afternoon we were trudging along on the way to a "must do" when we accidentally walked by the big double doors where the stars in motor cars parades comes out. Generally we take the time during parades to "accomplish something" (DH's strategy) while the rest of the people are occupied. On this particular day I was so tired "I JUST SAID NO"
Our equally pooped children gratefully sat right where they were and we watched the parade from the very beginning. Got some great photos, alot of smiles and that ten minute break did us a lot of good.

I love to just take a break and sit down and people watch. I do this sometimes while DH and DS are are on the BIG rides, while I take a break with the littler DD's.

I love to watch other families in action.

I love to imagine the background story behind the little snippets I see and hear.

I love to strike up conversations with other people in lines. It is amazing how interesting a 3 minute conversation can be.

I love to LOOK for families taking group pictures and offering to let them get in the shot by asking if I can take their picture for them. Most people are really grateful that you asked and many may offer to reciprocate!

I love to overhear an obviously NEW family trying to follow their guidebooks or maps and just help them out. Give them a few pointers.
I remember our first time, being so overwhelmed and confused!

Have a super trip!

I have only been to Disneyland (13 more days to go for WDW) but here is my two cents! Look before you sit! Found a great, shady place for me and DD to sit and have a Mickey Bar. Somebody else had the same great idea before me only their Mickey Bar apparently came to a bad end since I sat on it. Really GROSS!!! On that note the spare underwear would have come in handy. I got to walk all the way down Downtown Disney with a big, nasty ice cream/chocolate stain on my wide rear end!
