BGN, yipes, you are right, just checked the Navigators on Barb's site. Ten and nine-year-olds are in different groups. I guess I always just noticed the difference between the age groups as they split into the different clubs. I think my kids would have liked the clubs better if they had at least been in the same clubs. Seemed like there were times when the kids within a club were together, though. Maybe during the "Stormin the club" sessions. Not sure 10-12 is a good mix, that goes from fifth to sixth grade, meaning, at least here, grade schoolers together with junior high. Hm...he'll probably learn a lot of new stuff he doesn't need to know.
Steveandtonya, do you get the boat to yourselves? Ye gads, was it with
DCL, can we already book excursions? Which beach on St Thomas? Our first cruise, we charted a boat through Shoretrips to go to Buck Island off Charlotte Amalie. We split it with a bunch of folks we met on the DIS. Worked out well, we were a smaller group than a DCL trip and coluld get the guys to go where we wanted, they were also able to dock right near the cruise ship pier so we didn't have to taxi. Those small sail trips sound great, except drinking and sailing in January, eewww makes me a bit woozy just thinking about it.
We were thinking of taking the kids to Coki beach to snorkel if the waves aren't bad. DH and I were there once before in January and the snorkeling, despite great things to see, was unpleasant. Would love to go to St John, but too onerous with my Mom. Just thinking of doing the Phillipsburg beach and shop on St M. Last trip we went to Dawn to snorkel, lovely beach, but the snorkeling (though supposedly the best on the island) was lousy.
