Any Issues/Concerns with Disney Gift Card iPhone App?

I posted this on the community forum and didn't get any responses, so I thought I'd try here since a lot of people use gift cards.

We're leaving for Disney World in a few weeks and I purchased gift cards from Target with my 5% off RedCard and 5% off Pharmacy Rewards to cover tips, souveniers, etc. I decided today to go ahead and download the Disney Gift Card iPhone app to manage them and also in case one got lost or something. As I'm putting in hundreds of dollars worth of gift cards, it occurred to me that they were being validated and things like the activation date was being populated which means the app is transmitting data to somewhere. At this point, I got a little worried realizing how easy it would be for someone to create an app like this and steal gift cards. So, has anyone had any issue using this?

I used the app when we went to WDW. I loaded the cards in about 2 weeks before we left. I didn't have any problems with fraudulent activity.

I used the app in May had no problems whatsoever. It was great to be able to check the balance any time!

I too used the apps and I am fully delighted after using this.

I've been using it too....I have been buying cards as we go along and each time I buy one, I load it into the app. So far, I think it's great.

Now, I do also have a spreadsheet with all of the gift card numbers and the pins and amounts just in case anything happens with the cards. Then I have all of the information in a separate place.

I used it in Oct 11 with no issues at all. Something that helped me since I had a lot is I numbered the front of eac one then named and took pic of each one in the app. Made finding the one with the right amount much easier!
