We are going this Thursday and Friday and want to know if there are any DW apps for iphones that are useful at all? Checking lines, etc

My Disney Experience (MDX) is the official mobile app for WDW. MDX will allow you to make/manage FP+ selections, dining reservations, view attraction wait times, etc.

There are a number of 3rd party apps that also show wait times, but these apps rely on crowd sourced data.

I have found that the MDX app is probably the best one. Unless someone can give me another reason to use an app at the park, it's basically all to get wait times. THe MDX wait times is just as accurate as any of the others plus with the MDX you can at least modify your FP+ and manage your dining.

I don't think any of the 3rd party apps are necessary. However, I will monitor this thread b/c my mind can be changed.

For ride times I still prefer Touring Plans. Gives you actual times instead of "Disney" times.

In April, I'm going to try out Disneywaittimes.com to see how accurate it is... many are reporting it is highly accurate. It isn't an iOS app - I've added it to my Home Screen.

My Disney Experience is the best one of all of them. It does things the other apps don't do. Like if you want to find a restroom you click on the restroom tab and it shows the location of all the restrooms in the park and your current location. It is really easy to then follow the arrow to the restroom. Same with the attractions, dining places, shows, etc. It is free and it works great on IOS.

It also keeps track of your FP+ reservations and you can make, change or cancel them from the app. Same with ADR.

I am an annual pass holder, I live close to WDW and go several times a week. I use it every time I go there.

None of the apps that show wait times are correct. The times posted at the ride are never correct so that makes it hard for the app to be correct. However most of the time they wait time is much less than listed.

I like the disboards app for reading and posting on this message board. it's buggy, but works most of the time. I plan to use it to look up posts on the fly while we're down there. To me, the info I find on these boards is always SO helpful!

I'll also be keeping an eye on this thread, as we leave in 2.5 weeks, and this will be my first time down there with a "big-girl" phone! (smartphone)

I wish I could make it into an iOS app as most people who use the site do so on an iPhone. I would have to buy a Mac though to do development with :(

With only 3 taps on the touchscreen, it becomes an icon on the Home Screen and your site is fully functional from there. Most people with Apple products know how to "app-up" websites.

That's why the hundreds of dollars investment isn't worth it so much. It would just make it easier to discover for the average guest who might not visit the Dis.

The DISboard app isn't worth installing on your iPhone. For new installs, it only opens in read-only mode. You wouldn't be able to post any questions.

DIS is supposed to be changing over the app to new servers as there isn't an IT company overseeing their app right now, but it probably won't happen before your trip.
