Any interesting scars?

I have a big scar down the middle of my hand (not the palm, the top side).

In college my friend's parents had a summer house on a golf course. My friends and I would be silly and race our golf carts.. well one day my friend was driving and I was the passenger. We hit a sand dune and I went flying out of the golf cart and my hand scraped the side of an unusually sharp sign. :rolleyes1 My hand bled for hours. It was ridiculous. Surprisingly (and thankfully!), that's all the damage I received.

So now I have this scar that starts at my knuckle and goes down to my wrist. It's a perfectly straight line too. So weird!

Now for my scars. . .

I have a v shaped one on my middle finger print side. Got it in Jr High. You know how you're walking along and something don't feel/sound right with your shoe. So I wiped the bottom of my shoe with my hand but there was a piece of glass embedded in the tread so rather than wipe it out I ended up tearing a chunk out of my finger. At school of course.

I have a scar on my shin. I was a volleyball practice and ran to the water fountain for a drink. I was go. .go. .go in those day and literally ran to the fountain then screeched to a stop in front of it. Well, someone had spilled water all in front. My feet went out from under and my shin went into the bottom corner of the unit. At school of course.

This one's a little longer. And it happened at school of course.

I have a three inch scar on the inside of my right forearm. When I was in the 9th grade, we were doing the Presidental Fitness Test. The gym had an old set of uneven gymnastics bars that we used for the pullup portion. Well I was sitting on the low side and thought I'd be smooth and turned to grab the high side and missed. Ended up falling forward face first. Don't remember exactly but I must have stuck my arm out to catch myself because I broke both bones.

I stood up and looked down and my right arm was shorter than it should have been so I grabbed it at the wrist and pulled. It straightened out and looked normal so I let it go and of course it got short again. I thought it looked like a cabbage patch dolls arm flapping around. Of course all this happened pretty fast. Coach sent to the wood shop for a splint and he wrapped my arm in his sports page.

Mom works nights and they called her to come get me cuz I had hurt my arm. We lived across the street and the time and she says she almost told them send me home and she'd look at it. Awaker heads prevailed and she said she'd be right there. She drove down and flipped a U to park in front of the office and they met her at the door to tell her to drive to the gym. So she flipped another U drove down another 100yds and flipped another U to park in front of the gym.

As she's coming in the door, a young student comes running in and says "Michelle *ucker's mother's on the way" with an F instead of an R. He said it three times fast without thinking about what he said and Mom just said It's Rucker and I'm here thank you.

Anyway, they told Mom that they weren't doctors but they thought my arm was broken. So we went to my grandma's house to get her first. And would you believe she insisted on changing clothes cuz she'd been out mowing the yard. Turns out I'm bossy when I'm in pain. Then we went to the ED in my PE uniform.

I ended having to go to surgery to have it set because it had come thru the skin. They left a 1/2 inch portion unstitched in case they had to go back because I was 13 and they weren't sure whether I was going to need plates and pins. I spent three days in the hospital and six months in a cast.

It involves 3 stupid decisions:
1. Stealing pallets for a bonfire
2. Running from the cops
3. Jumping off a 12 foot cliff onto what I thought was sandy beach below

You put those three things together and add a big rock and you get a compound fracture of the jaw. Where the bone broke the skin on the other side of my face I now have a one inch scar.

 OMG ouch.

And my brother has a few that at least one of is my fault.

We used to play don't touch the floor and jump from couch to chair pretending the floor was an ocean full of sharks. More than once my brother would fall and hit his head on the sharp corners of the coffee table. We lived on the naval base. Mom would clean him up and decide whether we went to the ER that day or not.

Then there was the time we were playing with Dad's golf clubs. He was standing behind me and refused to move. I set up for my shot and knowing he was there planned to pull up short and not follow thru. What I didn't think about was where it might go when I pulled the driver back to take the shot. Yep. I hit him in the eyebrow. He has an upside down Y scar hidden in his eyebrow from when he was probably around 5+/-. He's staggering to the back door with blood streaming down his face. Mom's asking what happened and all I could say was "I told him to move. I told him to move."

 OMG ouch.

Imagine walking into an ER filled with more kids at 10 PM than their should be with your jaw bone visible and dangling and nurses just have a shocked look on their faces.

I have a scar on my leg from when I fell out of a tree but my chin got caught on a branch...well my leg kept scraping down the tree until I finally totally fell, one from when I was eight and I broke a huge mirror my dad had in the basement (pieces of glass flew everywhere and one got my left thigh) and one on my hand from when my dog ran into the back of my leg when I was a kid. For some reason, we carried their dog food out to them in glass jars and when she ran into me, I fell in the porch. Imagine my mom's surprise when I came in the house and said "look what Josephine did to me" and she looked expecting to see a little scratch and my hand was entirely covered in blood.

i actually have one in the shape of a "j" or a half moon shape on my left hand with smaller scars on my knuckles...I dont know exactly how it happened , because it happened in a car accident..BUT they call it my "gangster ju" scar , because im such a gangster ju lol

Big scar on my thigh from our childhood cat.

This was pre-cat carrier. We would go to our summer home via car every weekend and our cat would get sick.
So we were trying to get the cat to barf in a bag or something which required siblings to help hold the cat down.

They let go and the cats back claw got me good. Didn't need stitches but it let a nice 8' scar on my leg.

Oh yeah, that reminds me-- I have a series of 3 scars on my left leg, the longest of which is about 7". I was sitting on the bed with my right leg tucked under me and my left leg hanging off the side, foot on the floor. My car decided to jump up and land on my lap, which would have been swell had I not been reading a magazine and facing away from him. When he started to jump, it startled me and I reflexively pulled my leg up, so instead of landing on my lap, he smacked into my leg and dug in. He got me with 3 of the big fat back claws, and I found out the hard way how much it sucks trying to stem bleeding on huge cuts without the great big giant bandaids, which I had run out of and not replaced. I staggered to Walgreens and bled on their floor while buying them. I'm sure they were thrilled.
