We always have a group dinner at WDW. I invite some friends of ours who work at WDW, their kids and some other friends that live in Cocoa. We have tried the Luau (not the updated version) and the Hoop-de-do Revue.

We were thinking of trying the BBQ. Can anyone give me the low down on the BBQ? If you have done the dinner shows, how does the BBQ compare? Seems to me that the food selection is similar.

Thanks,

We went to BYBBQ in July and thought it was pretty good. You sit at a picnic table (no assigned seating, even though your ticket says you are assigned). The food is buffet - BBQ Chicken, hot dogs, ribs, corn on the cob, cole slaw, beans, potato salad and marble cake. You have unlimited beer, wine, tea and lemonade. No soda.

There is a band playing, plus the characters come out and walk among the audience. There is a dance floor where you can dance to the music. They recognize birthdays, anniversaries, honeymooners.

I thought the food was much better than HDD. I liked HDD entertainment better, though.

How is this in the summer months? I had booked it when we went 2 years ago, but I then chickened out and cancelled it because I thought that it might be too uncomfortable to sit outside in the heat of the summer (end of June).

We had a bunch of rain when we went (end of July), so it wasn't oppressive, just rainy and humid. I think there are ceiling fans in the area. We had a good time.
