I was just wondering if anyone has stayed at the villa called Magical Memories in Indian Creek? Any input from anyone?

Hi..small world..
we are here for 3 months staying in a rented home for the whole time...It is beautiful...

Our close friend was scheduled to stay in Magical Memories the week of the hurricanes...The owner was wonderful to her and rescheduled her for this summer...We stopped to show her the home last week and although we could not get in we did walk around and it looked very nice...pool was clean and neat and the location at Indian Creek is very very close to Disney...

We have owned property here in Emerald Island which is close to Indian Creek...this area off Hwy 192 on Formosa Gardens blvd is a great area...

How did you find a home to rent for 3 months? Are there any good websites for this?

My husband and I are considering a 2-3 month rental next winter. Most of the villa rental sites give rates by the day or week, which would add up to quite a lot of money over several months.

I'm assuming there must be owners who would be pleased to rent at a better rate for a 2-3 month period.

Any advice you could provide would be most appreciated.

Hi Susan....

It takes a lot homework and a lot of time on the internet...you need to contact many owners well ahead of time and sell them on two people taking very good care of thier home, no cleaning fees, much less wear and tear and having someone they can trust in the home...

There are so many homes for rent by the week that the homes farther from Disney (Southern Dunes is a good example) are loosing a lot of weekly rentals to homes much closer and Disney and newly built...

I would use sites like www.vrbo.com and www.vacationrentals.com and do your homework...

We found a beautiful 4 bedroom 3 bath for $1500/month and it really nice...but the owners are much more interested in care of the home vs. lots of rentals...we lucked out!!!

Thanks, Ted, that does help. We are also considering a garage apartment in Celebration because we love the town and think about buying there. It would give a chance to get a feel for it. But they generally have minimum timeframes on leases that are at least 7 months. It may still be worth it to take one for 7 months, even if we only use it for 3 or 4, as it is still less expensive than weekly villa rentals. I'd probably use that as an excuse to stay for more than a few months.
