Decided that we could do with a little break around the beginning of nov or around the middle for 6 or 7 days to hopefully get a little sunshine before the dark winter months.

Now, here's the crunch ... have been dvc members for the last 4 or 5 years and so have never had to really think about getting a good deal on disney accomodation, but having used up this years allocaction of points and not wanting to borrow from next year where do we start?

As I have said, have dvc membership(dont really know how the cash discount thing works) and an annual pass(althought that looks like you have to book from 60 days out), so can anyone point me in the direction of a reasonable deal?

many thanks

David.

As a DVC Member you can get 25% off of the rack rate for Vacation Club accommodation if available. You just need to phone and ask for the discounted cash rate and the cast member will tell you if it is available.

There is a list of rack rate prices on www.allearsnet.com under the accommodation page for each resort.

For your info., I have two cash nights booked later this month in a studio at Old Key West and it worked out at about $210 per night.

Enjoy your trip!

I would try a different (non DVC) resort with an AP discount myself ;)

I figure, if you can stay at a DVC resort any time, why not try a different one?

i would call up central reservations and ask for an AP discount...
i know there are new rules, but when i made reservations in september, i did it 2 days before our trip.....that is, we decided on wednesday that we were going on friday so i called up for reservations and was able to get an AP discount....so i'd try that first and see what happens.....november is more crowded than september, so it might be a problem.....but you never know until you ask...

You could also receive an AAA discount if you are an AA member. Typically this can be 15% off for the Deluxe resorts. I'd recommend Dreams Unlimited. Great service and they search for the lowest rate possible.
