We would like to book OKW 11/10 - 11/19 in a 2bdrm.

I have 227 points at SSR of my own and would be able to borrow the necessary 53 additional points to account for the 280 that are needed. I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions about how to arrange this reservation without having to wait for the 7 month window. I have considered transferring to someone or trading with someone. Is there any way to make this work?

If you transfer your points, they still are SSR points and they do not become OKW points.

You could make a reservation at SSR (but not for all the days, otherwise you may have points that you cannot bank) and at 7 months exactly try for OKW. I'd bet you can get it okay at that point.

Thanks Deb. I was hoping you would reply. I have always felt you had the best answers.

I knew that transferring points would remain SSR, I guess I was hoping that someone would trade and then we could transfer to eachother. Would my Feb use year stay with the points or does it stay with the owner?

Did you mean make a 280 point reservation at SSR and then cancel at 7 months and re-book? If I made the 313 point ressie and then changed, do the excess points stay in my 07 year or do they revert back? Do you think I should just try to sell my points and buy others? We have booked OKW at 7 months before without any trouble but I always get a little nervous. Would I have to book each day separately and hope that the next day I could add?

I'd bet you can get OKW at 7 months. There usually is availability there when there isn't at BWV, BCV or VWL. If you cancel the SSR reservation that uses more points than an OKW reservation, you might be able to bank them if you aren't too close to the banking deadline. As long as they weren't borrowed. You can't un-borrow points.

You could always ask MS at the 7 month mark if they thought day by day would be necessary. I'm still thinking you would be okay with OKW.

We are going Nov. 11 - 18. I already booked an OKW GV but still need to book 2 - 2 bedroom units at OKW with BWV points. I also thought about doing a trade but it is a lot of hassle so I called MS in early November of this year to see about availability this year (just for prediction purposes). I was told that the odds of 2 bedrooms being available at 7 months is very good. So I'm doing as Deb suggests and waiting until 7 months out and then calling. If it looks tight I will book day by day. Otherwise I'll just wait to book the full week. I could book BWV units as a back-up because I would be using current year points, but I hate to book rooms that I intend to cancel when someone else will probably want them and then would need to be waitlisted (F & W dates at BWV usually go fast).
