Any ideas for a Giftbasket?

I thought about ordering from Disneyflorist.com but I'm not sure that they have exactly what I'm looking for. I'm hoping some of you may have a few ideas!
Here's the situation, my BF has never been to WDW before and I'd like to suprise him with a gift or giftbasket when we check in or have it waiting in our room (disneyflorist does this???)
I'm hoping that I could have either disneyflorist or giftsofalifetime.com make a semi-customized basket - but I haven't looked into it yet! I thought I should try to figure out what I want in it first!
The itinerary is pretty well set and adding la nouba, golf, spas, or US is not possible on this trip - although I think we would both enjoy any of those. I'm looking for character or WDW themed gifts. Any ideas?

Does he have a favorite character? How about a themed basket for that character? Unless you are staying concierge level, it will probably not be feasible to have anything waiting in the room, but it can be waiting at the front desk upon check in. I did baskets with everyone's favorite characters, and included plushes, candy, pins, etc.

Well, I started this reply earlier and some how guess I deleted it in error so starting again! Hope I don't duplicate the posting!

Not trying to steal anyone's thunder here but you might consider making your own basket. You can purchase matching Mickeys and Minnies pretty much anywhere. Grab a nice picture frame and matching T-shirts from your local Disney store and you're good to go. Of course the element of surprise can be at stake but it will be ALOT cheaper.

When I called Disney Florist last year I was told they would deliver the birthday balloon and card I ordered for my daughter the day after we checked in. She loved it and was very surprised so it may be worth the extra expense if that's what you want to do.

May I make one suggestion? If this is BF's first visit, take more pictures than you think you need and buy some of the pictures that are taken by CMs as you come into each Park. We didn't buy any when we went on our first visit almost 2 yrs ago and I REALLY regret it. We don't have any pictures of us as a family at Disney!!! Actually, we don't have any of DH and I in any of the parks! Lots of pic w/the kids together but none of us together.
I hate that.........guess we'll just ahve to go back pretty soon!

Last Valentines Day, I ordered this for my DBF http://www.disneyflorist.com/produc...AA:Snack8&catalog_website_id=&index_id=custom - he was going golfing the next day. It turned out to be all Goofy instead of Mickey, but he was happy with it since he already had a Mickey golf club cover.
He loved it! It was much nicer and bigger than I had expected.
They delivered it while we were out at the parks, so it was a fun surprise!

Thanks for the great ideas... I just may have to check out our local Disney store, although, lately it doesn't seem like they have much of a selection.

You could call DisneyFlorist and talk to them...I did that a few weeks ago and they made up a really neat basket for a friend of mine. They did personalize it with the characters I needed. I was told I could either have it given to him when he checked in or placed in his room after he was in the room.
Or you could do up your own basket, and then ship it to the resort and it would be waiting for him.

Another suggestion? There is a DISer that does gift baskets. I've seen pictures of them and she is great. She lives down there, so can deliver it when you request. Her username is feralpeg Not sure if you can sure for a specific username, or not, but she is super nice!

Also, if you do decide to make your own, you could always make it up ahead of time and ship it to your resort. That way it will be waiting when you get there and you can sneak it into the room while you have him running a honey-do or something.

Feralpeg is not doing gift baskets anymore. I just asked her about it yesterday. She did really beautiful work.

I have purchased a basket by feralpeg in the past and she would have been my number one (and only choice) for this occasion as well... however, her daughter has had some wonderful opportunities and she is now spending time to help her daughter!!!

Although, I have seen quite a few posts by feralpeg lately... does this mean that she has some extra time on her hands? hmmm... Feralpeg- if you're reading this... and you're absolutly bored without a thing to do... I am more than willing to help you out!!! hehe
