Hi There! Just wondering if anyone knows when Airtran will release February fares?

I know I booked for last February the previous May...but seems like they are releasing fares much later.

Couldn't find any info on their site.

Thanks so much!

Bumping this up. Wondering if anyone has an idea?

Yeah, we are wondering as well. Not for February, but for January. It seems like they are kind of at a stalemate on releasing dates.

My family and I assume it is a greed thing. They are likely waiting for the economy to bounce back or for oil prices to go up.

Who knows....

I'm IMPATIENTLY waiting for Dec 17th...right now dates are thru the 16th:rolleyes: need to get a flight for DD.

I'm waiting for December...I was told they should be posting them by the end of June. Last year in June (third week) they released up to March 09. I remember being on vacation looking for flights for my next vacation:lmao:

what is your source for this?

Are they looking at the end of June before any new dates are released or until February is released?

It seems awfully late to me. Weird that according to a previous poster, last May they were already scheduling for this February. And so far we got nothing. Weird that as of late April/early May, they were scheduling almost 8 months out, and now they are going to hold off to be scheduling only 6 months out?

Argh, talk about frustrating.

I have been checking Airtran.com and checking these boards.
Last year in June, they added March (spring break) flights...so they were 9 months out-not sure why they are only 6 months out at this point. I finally booked my flights on 7/12 once the prices came down some.

I'm with you. I want to have December/January open so I can book my flights and be done with it! I don't like waiting! :sad2:

Okay so here is some more info I found out.

According to Southwest's own website, they will be releasing dates through January 15 on June 23rd.

Now, this is nothing guaranteed or anything, but from what I have noticed, when it comes to releasing dates, Air Tra usually tries to stay one step ahead of Southwest, their closest competitor, when it comes to dates and fares.

Now, I may be way off base on this, but I do have a feeling AT will want to release dates before SW does, so at least we do have an actual date in mind at this point.

:thumbsup2 Thanks so much! I agree w/you as well, that AT will release ahead of SW. AT is the only carrier that offers direct flights between Chicago and Sarasota, so I am pretty much stuck paying what they release, and their bag fees, AND their cancellation fees.....SW PLEASE open a gate there!

Welp, nothing yet. Sheesh.

Has anyone heard anything? I was tempted to give AT a call, just to see if maybe they could tell me when their dates will be released. If we do not have more dates opened up by June 10th, I just might do it.

It seems really odd to me that they are holding off for no real reason.

Knowing our luck, now that gas prices are on the rise, prices for January will be jacked up.

I thought I was the only impatient one :lmao:
Still checking everyday...nothing for Christmas Day yet.
I don't think it will be posted before mid June-just based on last years release. I'll still check everyday though! ;)

I am still waiting to book my return flight on Dec 18th...At least I have my arrival airfare already.

Based on last year's release, those dates would have been released two months ago!

One good thing is that Southwest's release is only 25 days away, and I REALLY cannot imagine that they would wait until the day of or after SW releases dates. So, we are definitely in the home stretch.

FYI... for those that are waiting 2nd half of Dec fares...Airtran has put up the full priced fares...So the Web specials should follow soon

You are seeing fares past December 16th? I'm waiting for Christmas week from PHL and just checked, but still nothing :confused3

Yeah, I saw.....$295 each way? I think not.

I do want to note, however, that it is only scheduled out until the 24th, so if you are looking for Christmas or after, you will still be waiting on those.

Just out of curiosity, how long after full fares are released are the web specials available?

I also noticed the web specials went from $58 to $63 for our particular airport to MCO. Not a huge jump, but if it goes up anymore, we may be looking at Southwest. I am worried/upset, as it seems the oil prices are starting to take their toll, and who knows what the flights may be by the time January is released.

As I predicted, it seems AirTran waited until oil prices made a turn to release fares........how unfortunate.

Bummer....I looked for my Christmas Day flights and nothing posted. Oh well, back to checking everyday...not that I would have paid full fare anyways....

Good news, for those of you looking for December. They have released the web special rates for up to December 24th.

And good news for me, (hopefully) they had the price at $63 over the weekend, but dropped it back down to $58. We'll see where the rates are in a couple of weeks when they release some more dates.

At the current rate of releasing 2 weeks every 4 weeks, it seems it might be August before they release February fares, but you never know, they may release a bulk of dates at one time....

Unfortunately I am travelling home on a FRIDAY ...so there doesn't seem to be a cheaper rate than $129..:sad2:

Actually, weirdly enough, from my home airport, Friday and Saturday fares are the exact same as any other day. Must vary depending on the airport or something.

Less than 3 weeks until SW releases their fares!
