Does anyone think there is a possibility of the free dining code going to General Public after the Visa people have had a chance at the bookings first? Oh, I hope so! I didn't get a pin for it, don't have the card and feel :guilty: to be paying during such a great sale.

I wouldn't be surprised. After the Visa group, maybe AP holders, then GP (general public) who knows? At the rate Disney is giving out discounts, it's entirely possible. I hope there will be something you can use. Here's a little pixie dust coming your way.pixiedust:

I am praying there is a GP code. We are already booked 12/14-12/20. I even have all my adr's!
I am not even mentioning the possibility of getting free dining to my husband. Right now we are paying for the dining plan. He will be cheesed off if he finds out some people are getting it for free!!!

A friend of mine made a Visa FD ressie today and asked the same question. The CM said "I wouldn't doubt it. I'd say the Visa folks will get about 10 days and then it will open up to the general public if there are rooms left." I don't know if he was speculating or spilling the beans.

We are going 10/3-10/11 and are booked with the Fall code, I would love to save even more with the Free Dining if it is released to the General Public!

I'm a Visa holder and won't be getting a Package because
we just got back from FD last week.
I hope you guys get to take advantage of the special.
Why not apply for a Disney Visa to get future offers in advance?
I built up $315.00 dollars in Rewards and that's all I used to pay
for soveniers and other things we needed.
We also took the Bounce Back Free Dining offer while we were
down there. Here I go again, planning another trip.

There is a Bounce Back special being offered (Right Now) still while you're
down there. Ask at Check in if there are any special packages
for next year at this time and they should give you a flyer.
Otherwise it was very hush, hush about it, no flyer in room,
no information on Disney TV, nothing. You have to book with
a $200.00 deposit before Check out-Have all of your present
Package information ready when calling the special phone #.
You will need you Con. # so that they can check to see if you are
really still checked in.

I'm just like the OP. I hate paying for dining with all these discounts being released! I hope it is announced to the GP! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!

For those dates (I was checking Oct 8 to 11). Don't hold your breath. All values were sold out at 7am (this was via Disney). At 1pm, AAA could not get any mods.

Remember that this time frame was already out via a barge of PIN codes that went out earlier this month. And lots of room booked before with the Fall package.

Some holding room-only would probably start to cancel if they feel strained due to the economy, but those on packages would be faced with a $100 fee at this point.

I was surprised of the values being gone early.

My .02..

I'm afraid you're probably right. Some of the resorts were already sold out for our dates (Nov. 9-15) long before any free dining pins were released. At 7:30am I couldn't even get the GP code last month (I was on hold right at 7am). Now the resorts & restaurants will be filled with free diners, when people like me who've been booked & paid for 6+ months are SOL.

DISNEY...THIS BITES!!!!

(thank you for letting me vent - I'm a tad bitter these days :flower3: )

I TOTALLY AGREE!

I have reservations from 10/19 to 10/25, I have paid this off with dining but if a code came out for free dining could I take advantage of it, how would that be handled??

In the past, the Disney Visa emails usually include a line about "Book now before it goes to the general public" or something to that extent. This one DID NOT.

But :wizard: that it will!

There's already general public pins for this. I got it a few weeks ago and I don't hold an AP or a Visa. There's tons of other threads on this on some other places on the boards.

That's not a PUBLIC code, those are codes exclusive to the recipients. That is totally different than a "public code" which is available to everyone, and usually posted right on Disney's website (e.g. the Fall codes which came out last month, but those are NOT the Free Dining codes which recently were mailed to some).

We had paid off our package in full and yesterday had the price adjusted. I asked how that would work and he said he could request an adjustment to our CC, but being that we already had requested our rewards points, I was afraid of if that would be a problem so instead we have a credit that will be on our KTTW. IF we don't spend it all, which I am sure we will, then we can request an adjustment when we are there. Between tips and souvineers, we shouldn't have any left.
