I need your help! My DD is getting married at the end of July in Utah, but my DH's family is from GB- so..... we're looking at having a small reception there. We have no idea about places there though and would appreciate any suggestions. It could be a room in a nice restaurant or any location or park. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Also- if you know of any really good caterers- please let me know! We're looking at a brunch or lunch meal on a Sunday. THANKS!!!

Hi~

I'm not from GB, but not far. I've heard quite a few people have these types of dinners at Brett Favre's Steak House. It's right next door to a Hilton Gardens, which makes it nice for out of town guest. Good luck!

Thanks Nancy! I actually thought about Brett Favre's, but have never seen it, or eaten there. Have you? Do you know what it looks like inside??? Where are you from in WI?? My DH was born and raised in Green Leaf- a very little farming community about 20 mins. from GB.

I had to host a business event in GB last Spring and we ended up renting a box at Lambeau Field. It was a big hit and the catering service at Lambeau is marvelous! They're great people to work with, too. I believe the box can accomodate up to 40 people. If you have more people, I know they have bigger rooms.

I actually think his family would LOVE THIS! they are hige GBP fans, of course, who isn't ??? Can you give me a little more detail.... please!?!?!?

The banquet rooms are very nice; I've eaten there several times, and the food is good. Another nice place is the Wellington in Green Bay; excellent food, pretty venue.

HTH,

I have been to Brett Favre's Steakhouse a few times and the food is delicious. I think it would be a great place to have the reception, I think they have a private room you can use. Also, depending on your budget you can use the atrium at Lambeau Field. You can call up there and have info sent to you about holding your event at Lambeau. My DH did this before we settled on having our WDW wedding.

I'd like to second (third?) Brett Favre's and Lambeau - I went to school over there in De Pere and now live back on the West side of the state.

I also remember River's Bend being very nice as well.

Good luck with the wedding plans!!!

Angie- do you remember the approximate cost for the Lambeau Field reception?

karebear1, sorry, I've been busy with my Spring cleaning gig (yuk, but happy it's over!) If you don't get the info you need from the website, please PM me and I have some phone numbers for Dee Bengsten (whom I worked with for our event) at work I can get for you if you still need them. they have some very flexible plans.

You guys are all so great! I'm calling Lambeau today. I told my DD what the plans were, thinking she would be less then excited about having a small reception for family there....... BUT she was thrilled! Her fiance is from DALLAS... he's a little less then thrilled! ;) So- your next assignment is to help us figure out some fun ways to convert him to PACKERISM at the reception! Now THIS could be FUN!!! DH husband has a HUGE family that can put the pressure on (12 brothers and sisters, their spouses and about 50 nieces and nephews) so we need lots of ideas! I thought maybe we could start by having him wear a cheesehead......

karebear1, don't forget to ask about passes to the Hall of Fame, too. And tours of the stadium are available if you hold it during the day. Perhaps you should serve bratwurst to your DD's new DH...that should get him in the "Cheesehead" mood. Of course, as a last resort, there's always the "chicken dance":)

Ahhhhh yes! I'd forgotten about the chicken dance! Thanks for the reminder!!! ;)
